Google should make a pixel note Ultra 2024..????????????????????

that battery life is pretty disappointing…. my fitbit versa 2 is 5 years old and only goes down to about 66% after one day.. and charges up to 99% while I do the morning routine..

True, but I have a $20 cheapo smart watch that, while it can last 5-7 days on a single charge, only has 10-20% of the features that the Pixel has.

It’s a balancing act between physical battery size and battery usage. They can only make it so large without it becoming uncomfortably bulky. The trick is software optimization, and that’s an area that I tend to trust Google on.

Prepare to get it for free since no hardly anyone will buy one ????

    Very good review!!

That Fitbit Subscription is a real downer for that otherwise really attractive device!

What a way to really gloss over battery life giving basically no info…”When I did nothing, it lasted long! When I did things, it drained faster”…duh? How about dive deeper into that, like how good/bad the drain was?

      ????

      October 11, 2023 at 4:21 pm

The battery is similar to Apple watch.

    • Nojerome

      October 11, 2023 at 7:00 pm

Agreed. She basically just complained about GPS draining it more quickly. I think this is universally true for smart watches.

Battery time still in hours.. in stead of days or weeks. ????????

      Can’t trust cnet.

Same design with the same ridiculous bezel, check. Still no repair options, check. Requiring a premium subscription to fitbit to get the best health data while trying to compete with Juggernauts like Apple and Samsung who do not, check. Only one size to alienate an entire demographic, check. It’s like they learned NOTHING from the last year.

    October 11, 2023 at 3:22 pm

So you need a subscription to FitBit to basically use the watch?? ????

  12. Blacque Jacque Shellacque

    October 11, 2023 at 3:23 pm

Would have been pretty cool if you tested the watch for a full day of heavy use (long exercise, etc). Curious how long the battery lasts in those situations.

  13. Joe

    October 11, 2023 at 4:05 pm

Does it still have the 80% bezel of the first one?

    • Chris

      October 11, 2023 at 9:27 pm

      Yes

  14. Drrck11

    October 11, 2023 at 4:29 pm

I’m sticking with my Fitbit Sense. The battery life is much better.

How do you use the heart rate zones feature? That doesn’t appear in run settings for me.

  16. Chi23eej

    October 11, 2023 at 5:22 pm

So they want me to pay $350 for the watch then $120 a yr to use the best features on the watch??

    It’s a shame they can’t measure sugar

Testing the heart rate accuracy while sitting still isn’t that helpful

I hope you plan on doing a longer-term review on this. Let us know how it works after say 3 months.

As long as the pixel watch 2 has a more responsive UI than the Sense 2 I’m sold.
