4:25 I guess this guy doesn’t know Google at all. They go to a lot of effort just to discontinue things all the time. A perfect example is Soli on the Pixel 4 line, which they just abandoned completely. Don’t even get me started on their software projects. So, yeah, the “custom Google silicone” could absolutely be a one-off from them.

I already ordered one for another reason. But the camera samples, pics and video, look pretty crappy to me. Like any phone from a few years ago. Maybe when I get it it will look better. But neither the photos nor the video looked very sharp to me or vibrant. Hopefully it shoots raw and it can be worked better for colour and contrast. But hard to do much with sharp. Using a 50 MP larger sensor, it really should look better than what this shows. also there seems to be some perspective distortion in all the pics and vids except very close shots. Another problem of older phone cameras. All kinda fish eyed.
Maybe its just me, and maybe when I get it it wont look like that when I use it. Should know soon.
Also you know what would be fun? If at least ONE review of any phone tried calling someone using the speaker phone function from a car and see if the mic and speakers are any good for that. And other actual phone things. Does it sound good to the other person? Can someone in the back seat hear the speaker and be heard if they speak by the other person? You know, phone things.
Anyway I really hope these video and picture samples aren’t how this device takes images. Cause for my eye its not as good as the Samsung ultra 20, and that over sharpens digitally often and ruins pics. But when it hits, it hits. And the video looks pretty good and perspective is what it should be. Like using. 50mm lens on a full frame.

Google was smart plenty of power but nothing overboard what’s funny about Google is they can have tech not as good and there software can make it better then something that should be better and isn’t there software is what will make this phone incredible they gaurunteed us 5 yesrs of software thats huge guys this phone in a years time will probably be performing better then most tvs out next year

Every phone is one of the best you can buy at the moment. Also this phone isnt using recycled aluminium, really dont know why you put that in. The Pro that you’re reviewing is made from stainless steel.

7:13 Turning off wifi will drain the battery more, not save it. Wifi uses less power than mobile data.

One correction: It’s not Google’s first homemade processor. The Tensor design came from their processors they’ve custom-made for their servers for years.

It honestly looks very good, if I was still on Android I would seriously consider it but I switched into iOS with the 12 so I guess I’m stuck forever now.
Kinda weird that it doesn’t have face unlock, given all the other sensors and flagship features it has, and looking at the reviews, seems like the camera is not as revolutionary as the specs would make it seem. Either way it’s the closest we will have to a fully in-ecosystem and fully integrated Android experience, I just hope Google doesn’t drop the ball after one year and go back to uninspired phones like the Pixel 5, as they often do with bold products…

Unless you own stock (As I do) why would you care about how well they do with a phone you do not own?…I know I have not cared about ios and their ecosystem for years. Also the Pixel 5 is a fantastic phone.

There was nothing but the Android 12 and security updates for 5 yes that would make this better than the Galaxy (¬e) S20-S22 Ultra. Galaxy camera still better than new pixel

I dont know how people think the pixel 6 is a better deal just cause of the cheaper price when it literally has a lot of draw backs. This pro model looks like a good deal

Lmfao no face lock is such a dealbreaker, I Will never buy a phone that doesnt have it after this p30 pro Im holding. By far the best way to unlock a phone, especially useful when my gf uses it to control music in the car and I dont need to fumble my hand of the wheel and scan the fingerprint.

You do know that, Android’s “Face Unlock” isn’t even secured at all, whatsoever? You can spoof Android’s FaceUnlock just by printinh off 1D picture of your face or if somebody else, has a picture of you on their phone. They can just do that, instead of using your actual face

I would recommend people look at Mr who’s the Boss camera comparison between the iPhone this phone has measure issues at night and when recording video it has bad color shift and other problems

I can finally throw me s21 ultra in the garbage and use the new pixel 6 pro! I have been struggling with the awful software on the ultra for almost 5 months now and it’s so dreadful. I pre ordered the pixel 6 and it should come next Friday and I can’t wait

I currently have a Pixel 4 XL. The limit of 64 gigs of space is killing me. I’m debating getting either an S21 or Pixel 6. My carrier is offering me a deal of $20 a month for 2 years for the Samsung S21 or $33 a month for the Pixel 6. I’m curious what you don’t like about the Samsung. I’m trying to debate which one is worth my money, especially seeing how the pixel 6 would cost me an additional $240. I know if I were to buy the phones out right the Samsung would cost more but this is the deal that I’m being offered. Any advice on these two?
