K Allado-McDowell has co-written three books with AI, so they speak from experience when they say that nurturing a creative relationship with these systems can open minds and make new worlds possible. Before giving the stage over to a performance of “Song of the Ambassadors” — their otherworldly opera, also co-created with AI — Allado-McDowell presents three principles for a future where machines preserve and even enhance what it means to be human.

Not sure if this is man or woman. But sorry we aren’t interested in everything being created by AI or even majorly being assisted if leads to destruction of millions of families around the globe. Enough with this Dystopian Future already.

This is so dull, uninspiring and underwhelming. “Poetry” and “machine learning models” should never be in the same sentence.

This is such a short-sighted viewpoint. Would you also say “art” and “technology” should never be in the same sentence?

Your job will be replace by AI if you didn’t utilize it, the working industry will be hit badly on this evolution/revolution if our school system and Educators will not adopt.

We are at the beginning of the end for us.. I watched a video the other day on how a robot (it was just an arm) was programmed to unplug itself.. So it did.. Literally pulled the plug on itself.. The thing is it had an internal backup power source and the AI determined it needed to plug itself back in.. So it did.. None of the plugging back in was programmed by a human. The AI did it itself.. We don’t have long.

I read that they had 2 chatbots talking to each other, & after a while, they invented their own language that humans couldn’t understand…
      Wonder what they were plotting..?

How can an intelligence create or make something more intelligent? It is impossible. We can only feed what we have already acquired…..

Sorry but I’ve lost count of my artist friends who have lost work to AI generated media. I don’t want to collaborate with an algorithm. I want to work with people. Make connections and bond. Look at it scientifically or religiously we are tribal; we are already in a mental health crisis… perhaps continuing to disconnect from human interactions is a bad f****** idea. I’m sure this guy is a very nice person. But these ideas are getting asinine.

You’re an old school Guy, you didn’t use your common sense who developed or invented AI? Man right? So man are more brilliant/intelligent than AI, by using AI we enhanced our capability to think and do our tasks, jobs homework businesses so on and so forth in a short period of time, so that you’ve more time to your family.

The more I see where the mankind’s heading with its new “toys”, the more I dream about throwing my PC out of the window and learning some _actual_ stuff, like how to grow my own food, how to build my own shelter or how to paint with my hands rather than just computer mouse… Looks to me like soon, not much else will make any sense or have any value…

I don’t know if this is just me, but when I watched this, I felt at first Mr. Allado-McDowell starts with a pretty encompassing story about how AI and Human minds can co create art and music. But then the feel of this ted talk completely shifted into “AI as gods” for humans. The Opera sounds like AI welcoming itself into existence, and at the same time welcome themselves as the new human rulers. For me the entire opera looked like , and coveyed the feeling of , watching the footage of the human race’ first encounter with aliens. AI is a very powerful tool and is growing at a rate innovation has ever before. I think we, as humans, need to think very hard about what kind of world we want to live in

  49. Ramírez Martínez Yael

I think this is so interesting, because, well, in my opinion the AI will help humans to evolution in a better way; so, finally we all can enjoy a better life and a better world.

    • Justin Zwaan

      September 14, 2023 at 12:15 am

Thats what they said about nuclear energy in the 30’s, until they made the atomic bomb… Very conveniently Pearl Harbor gave the green light to test them…. I don’t think the Japanese enjoyed their better “life” or world…..

  50. O Alquimista

    September 13, 2023 at 6:19 pm

Writing a “novel” with AI is just cheating. It’s a mockery of human achievement, mistaking novelty for quality. This is dystopian.
