AI generated images, videos, music, emails, books, video games, apps, etc etc. So many extremely talented people are going to be out of work and it all feels a little soulless.

So, more talented people, who didn’t have the conditions, will have more opportunities to create their work with these new tools.Those who will be most affected are those who work with manual applications that require a lot of time and dedication, not those who are creative.
@bright1180

I’m referring to situations like this where all you have to do is type in keywords and AI does all the work. How is that creative compared to someone who has worked in video production and studied for years to hone their skills?

@nicholas6789

A single AI generated image requires as much energy as it takes to fully charge a smart phone. One can only imagine how much energy it uses to generate a video.
@flamingteabag4572
December 22, 2024 at 4:18 am
You summed it perfectly, the results are random. Right now this is clever tech, but pretty pointless. All you’ll get for now is people creating millions of AI videos that look “ok” but will be immediately forgotten about. But when you think of the energy being used for this, that’s worrying. Maybe in a few years we’ll be able to make worthwhile short films, but right now it’s just an energy expensive roll of the dice. Like so many other AI tools, I’m left thinking it’s clever, but so what?
