    This will be huge

His idea is not realistic or it would already exist. There is only 1 company doing it in China and Japan right now, and theyre listed on nasdaq and only can go 20 miles with 1 person basically. This idea of the video above cannot be done with 2021 technology of drones and motors.

Well, of course 👍 but only with green electricity and ”driving licences” and dronelike understandings with the rules and upcoming laws in mind

  3. Jeff Ruebens

    June 18, 2021 at 11:47 am

Just 5 more years of improvements for batteries, motors and software will make these much more practical. Their plan for 3 years from now is more for all the legal requirements and changes needed.

Yup, just electric.. and quiet, helicopters are crazy loud

He would need much more advanced batteries than what exists now with other taxi drone companies on nasdaq. Sounds smart, but its not realistic what he is saying, with the tech we have today. You would need multiple battery to go that range, and that requires weight, which requires more batteries. It does not work as of right now, according to weight and drone science of 2021.

      June 18, 2021 at 12:49 pm

I am not bashing, but maybe his company can prove me wrong soon. Good luck, this is definitely the future (pick your spot on a tablet app map and fly there automatically with a tesla jetsons like drone in the sky, ehang their competitor does this already in 2 asian countries now)

New batteries are on the horizon

      June 19, 2021 at 5:51 pm

It is already working, You might want to do a bit more research. I would suggest with Beta Technologies and Bye Aerospace. And, Ehang (Nasdaq listed) in China have already flown 12000 flights. Autonomously. With people. But hey ho, welcome to the 21st century.

My family and friends use things from these companies every day so I know that these companies will continue to do well.

Why don’t ppl watch bloomberg anymore? It’s because you show amazing new technologies and shit on them on live tv. Concern this problem that. Instead of identifying how beautiful this is. Another major reason is you ppl have no manners. This guy was interrupted a dozens times in 3 minutes. You ppl need to adapt or you will be irrelevant eventually.

  12. Jason Roussel

    June 18, 2021 at 5:07 pm

Competition is paramount. Abusing each other like the US financial sector does destroys ingenuity. I can’t stand the way bloomberg talks to new emerging technology companies. They remind them how many seconds they have left, they interrupt non-stop. They’re so stuck on the word disruptive they label everything that millennials develop because their share holders are oil guzzling, 0 renewable resource using animals, that are willing to lie cheat and steel from everyone to gain a buck. The personal and environmental cost they are willing to sacrifice for more money is unacceptable. Generation X, generation Z and millennials we will not tolerate this behavior. Wild life, nature and every environmental aspect will not be sacrificed in the pursue of personal wealth. The only way I would sacrifice any of this is if in this stipualtion there is an absolute signed obligation to undo all the God dam damage American Baby Boomers has done to the environment. This is why I fucking hate money. Because of what is represents. I hope #dogecoin will represent nothing but the pursue of happiness and world peace.

2:05 It seems to me they’re very brave to “aim for commercial service in 2024”. That depends on research producing currently unknown battery types with suitable weight and power characteristics.

The first routes are fairly short and well within the capability of current battery technology.

the only important question is, will this be cheaper than a helicopter ride ? If not, then what’s the point ?

    • Tom Wedgwood

      June 19, 2021 at 6:06 pm

Of course it will. Operating costs will be reduced by 75%. The price of electricity, maintenance of electric motors is far cheaper than AV gas and turbines. Operating costs for a helicopter are some of the highest in transportation. Not only is it extremely complex, high maintenance, but high degree of skill needed to fly them. Evtols and electric aviation change that drastically. The most expensive cost will be the pilot and landing fee. It will be like the cost of a Tesla Model S uber ride with a expensive driver & parking place

An array of model aircraft sized electric ducted fans, arranged on pivoting flight surfaces of a basic canard configuration. Nothing exceptional that I can see, and battery technology stuck on lithium.

Great company. Bloomberg is not worth the interview

    • abvmoose87

      June 20, 2021 at 2:28 pm

Agreed, if they have so little time for him then dont bother him asking for an interview. Im sure the VP of Lilium got more important things to do than being interrupted by these rude reporters. Hes not trying to pitch anything, they allready got all the funding they need and then some. They allready have contracts to begin operations in select areas in the U.s. And other parts of the world, people are standing in line to do business with them so when he agree to lend some of his time to do an interview with this show the reporters could do him hje curteousy and greet him with some common decency. I get it if its an american vs europe thing but still, have some class ffs.
