Well, the guy being interviewed doesn’t know all he thinks he does. I can’t rely solely on google navigation. I use it for mass transit in conjunction with a more localized app. I use Apple for navigating in a car because frankly, it became overall better than google. For one thing, it interfaces more safely with the driver.

I had to laugh at this … “If you look at something like an Apple – Apple has Apple Maps and it’s pretty crappy and I have never used it.” So you have never used it and think it’s bad? cool what else don’t you try and tell the world things are bad?

What does a war look like when you sit still long enough to draw it? Reportage artist and TED Fellow George Butler sketches the people that the news passes by: a 99-year-old survivor of the Holodomor famine in Ukraine, a man gathering books blasted into a rose garden, an architect whose home was hit by a Russian missile. Urging us to slow down in the age of immediate news, Butler shows how a drawing reveals what a headline can’t. (Recorded at TED2026 on April 16, 2026)
