Orion glasses are looking amazing! Hope the field of view isn’t as small as Hololen’s. And use the option for a ring instead of a wrist strap. Also, use smart tinting glass.

I don’t care about pass through or the most nerdy looking glasses ever made, I want to see Human level field of view or at least close to it in my lifetime, ie not looking through binoculars on a VR headset! why have the VR companies seemingly stopped trying to improve FOV? Pimax tried with the 8kx but all other headsets gave up at goggle/binocular stage! this is the main thing you should focus on as it’s what gives the feeling of immersion! If I’m not part way feeling like I’m in ready player one’s Oasis in the next five years I will be pissed!

    Good bye Apple

    Hello Meta

  16. @birdman4birdlegs

    September 26, 2024 at 8:05 pm

So the reason it’s cheaper is because of the lens. They downgraded the resolution and the types of lenses used (quest 3 uses pancake lenses where quest 2 uses fresnel lenses). So it’s a quest 3 in terms of processing power and the features like AR. But then they put the quest 2 lens/screens back on it to cut costs.

Also if I stop responding to comments its because Facebook disposed of me for knowing too much.
