Its no joke though. Its happening more and more even if the robots dont look humanoid, they are still replacing workers

    • James (Korsalath)

      June 2, 2023 at 4:06 pm

@Leonard Greenpaw its a good thing. Wouldnt you prefer a stimulating job rather than the tedious grind of repetitive labour?

@James (Korsalath) including but not limited to that. There are art AI for art stuff. Sure they mess up sometimes, but we can give a couple of meat workers the job to clean it up a bit, and pay them with peanuts because they will accept it.

@KindMindfulnessCan you put yourself in the place of that “someone”.

    • KindMindfulness

      August 17, 2023 at 6:14 pm

@JoseRX95 Absolutely! I would look forward to stop stacking boxes and find training to become a robot controller, or robot maintenance worker, or robot tester, or anything that would help the robot work the mindless, dangerous jobs. Any industry that “hires” robots should provide training to move its workforce into other positions. Just look back at the times when we depended on human strength to move pulleys, pull carts, push wagons in mines, dig holes for tunnels, so on and so forth… Back then there was also a furor of fear that men would starve for lack of jobs. Instead, men became conductors, controllers, drivers, planners and so on. Robots will also increase productivity, which in turn can allow for humans to work less hours/week with same income. We need to move forward. And we will move forward. Those who refuse to accept it and don’t start looking at work opportunities alongside robots will be the only ones without a job.

    • JoseRX95

      August 27, 2023 at 6:49 am

    • Kirklan Yoshinaga

@UserName-sv8sf look up agility robotics Salem factory in Google it should lead to an article about this company opening up a factory in Salem, OR to build these robots. In it, the article states that the average cost of the a robot costs 250K. I could’ve read it wrong though. You could also look up the price on their website. I found out about this company through that article and came to see what the robot was and why it cost so much. I was kinda disappointed. I thought I was going to get an I robot style robot but I guess we’re not there yet in terms of tech level. 💁‍♂️
