For a one month old used rounds that still look pretty solid, I wonder how long does it really take to decompose the used rounds?

The force is strong with this one
    Keurig is innovative 😃

The plan is you cant use refillable pods anymore. Keurig is a great way to make mediocre overpriced coffee.

Keurig may also want to venture into franchising their own coffee shops… named: K or K! could be cool brand too!

They should indicate it’s in a round cup🤔 Circle K maybe.

I love the idea of this as single use coffee makers contribute too much plastic waste. With that said, it’s disappointing that they can’t retro engineer this to work on existing Keurig models. It’s great they are going to a pod that is 100% compostable, but now what are people supposed to do with their old/current Keurig models? Throw them out? Give them away so someone else can use single serving plastic K-cups? I applaud Keurig for trying to do the right thing, but to make it only work on future models makes it seem like they just want to say they are more environmentally friendly while still selling more, new units. We have a Keurig knockoff and use a reusable filter cup so there is no waste. I would think Keurig could push that more or make paper cups that are 100% compostable. In any event, thanks for another great video. I do like learning about new tech whether it’s computers or coffee! 😊

I agree. But I’m sure between now and then, someone will come up with a hack to use these on the old ones. Necessity is the mother of invention.

Keurig should go the way of Juicero. I’ll stick to buying Fair Trade coffee beans and sticking them in my grind and brew machine.

So glad the machine is made out of glass and aluminum, it puts all of my environmental concerns at ease. 🎉🍾

  19. @LoMio

    March 14, 2024 at 7:06 pm

What I don’t understand is why they didn’t just make the original kcups out of this plant based material?

Why wasn’t the first car a Lamborghini ?

yet the machine is still plastic made

  21. @Anon_0192

Nevermind the huge amount of plastic for the entire new coffee maker you have to buy to use the more eco friendly pods 🤦🏼‍♂️

  22. @matdrat

    March 14, 2024 at 7:37 pm

What will James Hoffman thinks about the rounds?

  23. @lorensims4846

    March 14, 2024 at 8:02 pm

I like the idea of non-plastic “pods,” but I balk at the idea of having to buy a new machine.
I use a Hamilton Beach coffee maker that allows the use of K-cups, largely because I’ve heard bad thing about the reliability of the Keurig machines.
As it is, I can buy twice the amount of coffee for half the price if I buy a canister of ground coffee.
    But they sure are convenient!

  24. @LilfishStick84

    March 14, 2024 at 8:09 pm

Another money grab, you can keep your new machine, my microwave works just fine. Heat up some water, drop a Keurig pill tab in, stir it, and call it a day.

I’m really interested in the K-Round. I would actually consider a keurig once this becomes available

  27. @notuptome

    March 14, 2024 at 11:31 pm

I am a nespresso user If Keurig and the rounds can produce a system that gives you the same kind of experience, I currently get, I think that would be great. As far as being competition, just for the fact that. You want to get that experience to have many different types of Brews Be it a single shot of espresso a double shot a longo or an actual announced coffee that would be pretty cool with nespresso The machines or the Vetero machines end up spending the aluminum capsule in Reading a barcode at 7000 R. P. M. So wait knows the blue temperature, the amount of water. It needs and the style of capsule, so it knows if it’s a double shot or a coffee and then doing so it. Brings out crema or a version of crema. You get like when you are doing espresso in an spell machine so if these new machines can do that, I think that I’ve become a cool. I’d love technology so it would be cool to see how all of this works.

If you got the stainless steel washable filter, even better.

  33. @alihussain4349

    March 15, 2024 at 1:20 am

It would be nice if companies didn’t pander to us with this environmental nonsense. Its just an excuse to charge more money. Nothing we are doing is making any difference.

  34. @MrAcarlo

    March 15, 2024 at 2:07 am

incredible. the future is wonderful! they managed to remove the plastic to make coffee! exactly like my grandmother did fifty years ago and more

Don’t be lying, she had those aluminum packets from the supermarket

  35. @funnybeingme

    March 15, 2024 at 2:21 am

Ok let’s introduce this new product that doesn’t use plastic kcups to let everyone know that we CARE about the environment. And at the same time introduces two new machines that still uses the old plastic kcups. 🤔

Synthetic chemicals in my coffee mmmmm…plant based wax? Let me help you ppl out. Buy a mocha pot, inversion process, easy to clean with soap n water, doesnt drain electricity plugged in all day. Use fresh grounds, not bagged with preservatives. 💯

  40. @JasonB808

    March 15, 2024 at 9:09 am

Waste of money. I been brewing single cup coffee from ground coffee in a simple reusable aluminum funnel filter. It’s way cheaper than coffee pods and very easy to use.

No plastic “round” solution is great.

  44. @JoeKnowsWorst

    March 15, 2024 at 2:14 pm

Little strange, my regular $99 Keurig machine that doesn’t have a water reservoir and is only meant for one 8-10 oz cup of coffee is smaller than that one claiming to be the smallest machine.. maybe it’s smaller than it looks in the video?

  45. @aargomemnon

    March 15, 2024 at 3:16 pm

I am already designing a K-round to k-cup plastic and steel adapter. Profit.

  46. @Faucet02

    March 15, 2024 at 3:20 pm

So the answer is getting us all to buy new machines (which are made from plastic) instead of changing the K-cups into something more sustainable like biodegradable paper? What a load of $#!+!!!

  47. @NextNate03

    March 15, 2024 at 3:29 pm

Does anybody remember the Vue machine?
    Exactly.

  48. @Watch-0w1

    Just use reusable pod

  49. @ninjanerdstudent6937

CNET’s Apple lady is talking about non-Apple products now.

  50. @furballami5842

    March 15, 2024 at 7:45 pm

What they should make is a taller k-cup to fit the 30oz and under coffee tumblers. Soon they will have you drinking 6-4oz cups.
