So many comments are disagreeing with this but I think the key is that the consumer, hypothetically, will be able to decide which parts of their lives and how much that they want the ai interfering in. These comments are generalizing they problem and freaking out over a robot controlling their lives but for me I would only use it where I need it. Think of an how much easier planning and allocating time would be if you had this kind of technology. That’s what I would do. And I would share what I’m comfortable will. Of course this is the ideal senario but I do fear that it may not turn out that perfectly in the hands of huge tech companies trying to profit

One just has to look at Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, to name a few big ones. People have NO clue what they’re doing. It’s a recipe for disaster.

Nothing comes next because I don’t even use these stupid ‘smart’ nonsense. My brain works 500000 times faster, why would I want to interact with a dumb ‘AI?’

Honestly I think my Siri & Alexa are a PIB. I’m from the south. I’m always repeating myself or slowly myself down so s l o w I sound like animated dysarthria or I get so frustrated with it!🤪. Most of the time I just keep it unplugged and when I need it. That’s just based on the rumor that I hear you can listen to you all the time if you want. Do you or not I’m doing it. Then I go over to my kiddos house and they’ve got their turning off lights and the other stuff so it’s hard enough to remember all my kiddos name and animals and now you want me to remember which light i’m supposed to turn on! And who wants to fight the thermostat down sometime don’t want it cooler😆

Need to make two pipelines down rivers, a say Atlantic ocean supply line and a waste line, everyone’s off toilet to tap and every town taps on, horizontal boring etc, and dumps back into a sealed line. River is uncontaminated and separate system full of water now for nature and irrigation, otter don’t put salt in their water, now they put it on more roads and winter travel is safer, everyone uses a stream distiller to disinfect and remove salt at the kitchen counter for a couple gallons of drinking water a day, no more drain to mouth

Wishing you could hybrid the dna of grass and corn for a lateral corn/grass crop for indoor vertical farming for massive amounts of more cattle on earth

The poor could eat surf and turf every meal, a kid making nothing at a fish store could make 90k in an indoor fish farm and Peele looking for jobs could be restocking ponds and lakes with healthy fish

Alexa already manages the lights in several rooms of my house, controls my security camera system, adjusts my thermostat, controls the tv, and even starts my car, and opens the garage door. She can make phone calls for me, and is my kitchen timer, and is capable of running multiple timers for multiple dishes if I’m cooking more than one thing. She’s my alarm clock, and reminds me twice a day when to take my meds. Alexa notifies me of Amazon deliveries, and maintains shopping lists for me. If I ask her to, she orders things for me and in a day or two it’s at my door. I have four Echo devices in my home.

In the car my voice assistant navigates for me, and sends texts and makes phone calls. Occasionally I ask her a question while driving and she provides immediate, accurate information about almost anything.

I’m honestly pretty excited about what’s next!

Under corporate capitalism this only is scary. Without a paradigm shift if our consciousness which includes economic, government, climate/biome, and social justice oriented ideas, this type of technology will only be used to extract more wealth from the masses. Ruling class exploitation of natural resources, flora, fauna, and more so now human intellectual/psychological capital, will only continue to get more dystopian until we go extinct.

Solving problems created by tech and big data with more tech and big data. If our lives weren’t so busy by the rush to work more to earn more to pay for more then we wouldn’t need “assistants” to help out.

It seams that for you, we are looking for a more “efficient” life where AI is replacing human experience. But my ability to take decisions come from my experience in life.
If we grow the next generation with AI, we will have a different kind of human being. Horrendous prospect.
We should slow down, not acellerate.
Also, I want people to be able to change taste and opinions, not to get stuck
on the rails that algorithms think are right for me.

This kind of technology partly already exists, although it is very limited. And there are all chances to get more perfect assistants already now, for example that text to voice has been able to imitate a person almost perfectly for 2-3 years, but on phones we still see the technology, which is 10 years old, which is being developed in a different direction – expanding capabilities, betting on neural networks, while in my opinion, neural networks as a basis are not quite suitable for creating “thinking” networks, which will in the future give more than the speaker tells us.
