I love Sean, but whenever I hear anyone downplaying the risks of AI I feel an urge to point out that AI has the potential for exponential learning and exponential growth. The only limitation is processing capacity. If we intentionally or accidentally give it the freedom to learn without restraint a simple AI program would become a threat to humanity within hours, possibly minutes. It seems like a sci-fi script but Terminator got it right. Even leading minds in the industry understand that an AI capable of learning without restraint could infect the world like a virus and if it developed a desire for self-preservation we would be at war with it very quickly. That’s not the kind of war you want to have.

You used a bad prompt and allowed chatGPT to hallucinate and drift, and took those answers.
For these kinds of stuff you should put it on your own machines where you can specify your own rules for each guest.
And a short 5-10 minutes helping the guests write prompts would help. or just ask them off camera and write a fitting prompt for them.

I think it is important to note the the prompt Jack gave when asking for a video idea was too simple. To fully utilize chat GPT (specifically GPT-4), you need to feed them with good examples first. Also, now GPT-4 can browse the web, so you can utilize that too. Prompt engineering is very important.

6:18 It’s quite unfortunate that Jack seems to be under a “pendulum effect”: he used to spend far too much time dedicated to his channel (at the cost of his personal life and mental health), but now (especially after he started throwing the term “parasocial relantionship” around) I feel he went a bit too far in the other direction (something being one-sided doesn’t mean it’s not real or genuine – consider unrequited love, for instance -, and saying that kinda thing just comes across as dismissive towards his fans’ feelings). I know he could just quit the channel at any time now, but I’d certainly miss him if that happened. I hope he can still find ways to have fun with his channel, and that he stops viewing the engagement with his audience through the lens of biased/loaded terms such as “parasocial relantionship”.
