Could we make condemning genocide go “viral”?

we have already made progress in establishing more peace just need to push it further Looking at the recent data on “Peaceful and hostile relationships between states, World” from ourworldindata is actual real optimism.

Last century we pushed real hard on democratic rights and now its phenomenal what we have achieved.

The more people have, the less generous they become. Some of the poorest people i know would give you their last dollar. The people that have everything can’t abide parting with one.

It’d take scarcity to become scarce, In order for generosity to go viral.

Great thanks for your creativity and generosity. I suggest that each view, share or like of this video may extent that generosity to at least one other person just like an infection which spreads and never stops at all.

Let’s start with anyone over £10m paying a 25% wealth tax.

How about making over 10 million 99% tax.

If you have to trick people into being generous through “viral” content then you understand we aren’t the supreme arbiters of justice and fairness we believe ourselves to be.

    January 9, 2024 at 6:13 pm

This isn’t how humans are wired. We are generous to people we know and love and care about, and that’s moral and good. Being generous to strangers and anybody in need is a way to have your wealth disappear rapidly since there are 8 billion people alive, and most are poor and in need. And get government out of handouts since it destroys our moral interest in charity. Just like “free government services” prices out most competition, so does free government charities (spending our labor on others to buy votes and repay donors).

  12. @cybersekkin

He talks of generosity being spread like a virus. He seems to ignore or downplay detractors and blockers. His motive seems genuine but the talk sounds like a motivational speaker failing to prepare people for pushback and problems. Just ignore it, is not an answer that works for people. When people try and run into difficulty, they think they are the problem. Is it any wonder they lose hope in their attempts.

Very true. Generosity met with a lack of appreciation can easily leave one disillusioned on many levels.
      And that’s just one pitfall.

There is kindness with the average person, the problem is the lack of it at the top who’s empathy is insulated by the bubble of money they were born into. Of course they are the ones who’s kindness could have the largest effect….

I clicked on this video because I saw it and thought “isn’t that just what Mr. Beast does every time he makes a video?” It was a cheeky joke, and 100% I was not expecting this. I thought it was gonna be some experiment or thoughtful idea. I didn’t even imagine that there was this. I actually watch most of the creators in this video. I LOVE watching generosity and frequently wish that I could be that generous. I am almost crying. Then I was thinking – no I have been generous before. I have given food and money to the homeless when I was dead broke. The number one reason I give to the customer service jobs I apply to for applying is “I want to help people and make them happy.” I do think tho, that it would be amazing if I could come up with something grander than the little things like these other people

      January 12, 2024 at 5:57 pm

Little interactions count. You never know who’s life you affected with your kindness. Also, those people are more likely to be kind to someone else because of your modeling. It is very grand indeed. Fame and volume feeds ego, but interpersonal exchanges feed the world. Keep going! We need you!!!!!

If I were part of that PayPal experiment I would first be suspicious that it was some kind of scam and then I would simply save the $10,000 in my bank account . When I feel guilty about my miserliness I remind myself that I can’t carry my money to the grave and what I don’t use ,I’ll just be passing along later

Being open to doing even “small” kindnesses even to our friends and family without ulterior motive, and being open to receiving and accepting such from others without looking for motive.
