They influence your behavior, yeah… But not consistently. Don’t overthink it.

    You’re also “what you drink”…

(PFAS) are estimated to be in about (45% of U.S drinking water) according to a U.S geological survey by the ( U.S.G.S )

Note, the actual percentage is probably a lot higher.

They only tested for 32 types of these (forever chemicals).

There are over 12,000 of them.

If you’re interested in knowing more, i’ve added (parentheses) around key search words here to do so.

The dose makes the poison. Merely existing matters way less than how much humans intake, how much humans retain, and how much of a given substance it takes to have a negative effect.

Meh, neuro chemicals / steroids / hormones are far less understood for being so impactful on your entire being. Micro plastics are like worrying about smoke, matters sure, but not quite as much to solve the puzzle.

I wonder about what it would do for chronic disorders as well. Would negative gut bacteria be enough to explain auto immune disorders perhaps?

Soooo, when will this research be applied? Not pharmaceutical but just our understanding of what we need

People consume sodas, alcohol, and swine.

Thats not good stuff for us.

Sadly probably never unless there is a way to monetize it for lots of money. We always have the technology for medicine catered directly to a person’s dna , but it’s gone almost nowhere for decades because no one cares, easier to treat a symptom than a cause , and much more profitable.

I remember just a decade ago, explaining to a primary doctor, 2 different dermatologists, and a gastroenterologist that I believe my diet (food I was eating) was causing many various issues. They all looked at me like I was the dumbest person for ever suggesting food be related to anything else. Irony being the modern relevant literature has proven me right, it seems our college educated “experts” lag far behind the science. Shouldn’t be surprised as the stuff they taught me for csci was a decade behind being of any use. Regardless, diet is far more important to you than any doctor knows. It’s related to immune system, system inflammation (from joints, tendons, to skin / hair). To your sleep, and like she said your energy and even personality. It’s insane how understated this stuff is in the medical field. But who cares if there’s no money to make right? Now take a steroid shot instead and get back to work ;ppp

The TED Idea Search wraps up in Amman, Jordan, in a 2,000-year-old Roman amphitheater and in front of a crowd of 4,000. What unfolds inside those stone walls is something the series hasn’t quite seen before: speakers shaped by the weight of living in a region the world tends to define for itself. From a mountaineer who turned grief into motivation to a therapist rewriting the Arab world’s language around mental health, the final city makes the strongest case yet that the best ideas can come from anywhere.

Watch the full talks from the TEDxAmman Idea Search:

00:00 – Intro
3:24 – Rehearsals
16:00 – The Talks
36:28 – Deliberation
38:48 – The Winner Is…

The most interesting ideas often come from the most unexpected places. We searched the globe for ideas with the power to inspire, motivate and change lives — and we found them at @TEDx events around the world. The TED Idea Search follows extraordinary speakers from 9 countries competing for a spot on the TED main stage in Vancouver this April.
