      It’s an Italian word that means both hello and goodbye. It’s spelled chao in Spanish as transliteration.

    A Spaniard here. His Spanish is very good. Suddenly starting to speak another language, even if you speak it well, is complex. Especially if you don’t live immersed in that language. I bet that in a week or two surrounded by Spanish speakers he would improve a lot!!

      quite good, it’s easier to understand a foreign language when it’s spoken by someone with your native language (I asume you are english native speaker). and yeah his spanish is GOOD (I’m spanish)
