Insta360 makes some of the most fun cameras out there. With weird accessories and an app that really inspires you to try new things, Insta360 really does a lot to stand out. The new Go 2 delivers on what Insta360 does best, but also brings a ton of quirks with it. So many quirks, in fact, that it might’ve actually broken my brain and sent a part of me soaring to the astral plane. It’s also tiny. Like, really tiny.

Thanks for watching! Let me know if you have any Qs about the Go 2 or better yet tell me about the time you visited the astral plane.

Project idea: strip off the extra stuff on the GoPro Hero 8, make a custom pcb to work with the camera module and connect it to like a very small display, say about the size that’s on the insta 360 go 2’s case and have that display do the controls and put all this in like a body that’s a little bigger than the insta 360 go 2, it will have far better image quality. It would be a great vid if you could make it happen!!

This product has a major flaw: It’s charging case does not charge with an USB-C to USB-C cable, as other reviewers have pointed out.

The reason for that is an inproper USB-C implementation, it is missing two resistors wich are needed for any USB-C charger to detect it as a power sink.

Inexusable design flaw on a product this expensive.

I assume we’ve reached a stage after years where a size of device won’t sacrifice its visual quality and even battery life.

  26. Danie Bello

    March 11, 2021 at 1:20 am

It’s biggest downside is 30 minutes, that should be their only focus for a 2.0 I’d buy this product if it had more battery life cause it seems awesome as hell otherwise.

  27. Josh Kaufman

    March 11, 2021 at 4:12 am

Which way is the sensor oriented horizontally?
When the camera is horizontal in the head mount, or when it’s sitting in its tripod??
(Perhaps this is the reason that this camera is limited to 1440p)
