1. Lack of Palestinian Sovereignty
The proposed governance model is not a state and is tightly controlled by external parties (the US, the Gulf States, Egypt). This undermines the Palestinians’ right to self-determination and fails to address the root cause of the conflict, which is the desire for autonomy and sovereignty. The fact that Palestinians are not in direct leadership from the outset easily creates a sense of imposition and may not be sustainable.
2. Israeli Sovereignty
The imposition of limits by the US on Israel’s actions (such as forcing an apology to Qatar or banning annexation) constitutes a major interference in the sovereignty of an ally. Although necessary to achieve the agreement, this move could lead to long-term consequences in the US-Israel relationship.

This conversation is fascinating — it feels like a pivotal moment in a conflict that has shaped global politics for decades. 🌍 The fact that both Israel and Hamas are even partially accepting a U.S.-led peace framework is already historic. But as Ian Bremer said, progress doesn’t guarantee peace — not yet. The real test will be in the follow-through, in whether both sides can move beyond retaliation and politics toward actual coexistence. 🙏 Let’s hope this truly marks the beginning of something different — not just another cycle of broken promises.
