The Headset can convert 2D Video to 3D? Wow… except, LEIA did this 2 years ago with their Lightfield LUMEPAD, AND it converts video on-the-fly! You say their Glasses have just ONE DISPLAY? That’s SO 2022! (Yawn) Everyone else is doing Dual Displays now – do try to keep up, Google/Samsung!

Will Google be the victor over the AR Space? If it can make glasses lens technology first that works why not?

Meta has several headsets. None of them look like Apple’s Vision Pro. Samsung’s looks like Vision Pros twin brother.

We know that Quest 3 got best pancake lenses and very large sweetspot (even better than Apple Vision Pro), could you tell us what lenses is this one using and how was sweetspot ? Compared to Quest 3

I am very excited about this, it’s all about Google’s deep tech reach in some many domains converging into this device, especially AR glasses. I believe they will be more popular than Meta’s offering due to Meta’s crappy history with user data and privacy. In this respect Google is much mopre trustworthy and respectful. I use the Quest 3 only because it’s the only real option right now.

Prayers I can tell Apple has completely abandoned their VR project LOL. They priced themselves out of the market before they even open the market. So if Google is going to do something similar they’re going to crash and burn even faster than Apple

sitting on the edge of my chair until ” I can look at an object and ask, hey Gmini, what is that?” my eyes cannot roll back into my head far enough. there has never been a useful implementation of this that cant be done with your phone and yet its never done with your phone because its just not that useful

This is where a monopolistic and closed up eco system like Apple will start to pay the price for their overall approach to consumer products.

Former senior US national security official Miles Taylor shares a personal account that raises a broader civic concern: the growing cost of dissent in American public life. Drawing on his experience inside government and living the consequences of speaking openly, he says that the real threat to US democracy isn’t the politicians or hard-liners — it’s the two-thirds of Americans who don’t speak up. (This talk contains mature language.) (Recorded at TEDxMidAtlantic on November 1, 2025)
