The Problem with Streaming — and the Case for Physical Media | Tom Rizzuto | TED
Streaming media gives us access to everything instantly — but at what cost? (Recorded…

Personally I have had success with this. Even as a 33 year old with my nephews, cousins, parents, long distance friends, etc. some people, like my dad, are embarrassed by their lack of skill and want to practice alone, but just patience and helping as much as possible is worth it. A lot of video games are transferable in their skills.

During COVID roblox was crucial for connecting with my kid. If you want a relationship with your child you have to meet them where they are

My kid started getting addicted to Roblox and asked to play “a little” when i was too busy. That game is a very bad infuence if parents are not around, causing nightmares, use of bad words and developing strange ideas. Then a lot of stress once he was away from the game.

Im 45 and i play all my life, my son with seven play since he has four.
STILL… Esports are cancer!!
Dont go that direction , only pain, exclusion, anger are in the way for most.
Kids are moving to co-op games where they dont fight friends and thats the way.
Games dont make great leaders, they are before the game.

Only TED I watched from beginning till end in months, that said, I am a parent of three… Not because I like video games, not because I necessarily like modern times, but because I love my children and want to be there for them whatever this (for me) absurd times throw at us. I also kind of like vibrato in here voice, sounds emotional and honest, not something you get (still) from AI generated, the more you click the better kind of YT content….

When I was in my teens, my dad criticized me for playing video games. “Aren’t you a little old for this?”
“No, it’s just a game, Dad.”
☝🏻The IRONY of this is my dad brought ATARI into our household in the 1980’s!🕹️🖥️ P.S. I’m not out getting into trouble with drugs, gangs, getting girls 🤰, gambling, or getting arrested. I’m safely at home.
