Fans are great as mosquitos are extremely wind sensitive.
Many kinds of citronella plants are great repellents, too. Although not all plants work against all types of mosquitos.

I don’t get it, is the mega city going to suck the blood out of it’s inhabitants?

There are over 1500 species of mosquitoes, and just over 200 of them bite, and only the females of those species. Unless you are in high-disease areas, they aren’t really a problem.

If my neighbors could follow the first one, it would be great… But they can’t even properly dispose of their garbage, so I can’t be too hopeful

The first Ted talk I’m not convinced by in any means. Removing water body’s lessens the potential for (micro-) habitat for other species, hence less biodiversity in already artificial areas like gardens, I can shower in mosquito repellents and they still come in dozens, if not hundreds and a fan is way too loud for sleeping.

What city has mosquitoes? Also, none of this has anything to do with mosquitoes in cities. Do you really not know what the word “city” means… What Chinese bot made this video?

This video was definitely made by AI, just to have content to post. No human thought this video made sense in the context of what the title actually said…

What do you hear when you sit in silence? For artist Rose B. Simpson, that question is the beginning of all art. She comes from a line of ceramic artists stretching back generations and, as part of her multidisciplinary work, she also builds custom lowrider cars. (If that sounds like a contradiction, that’s kind of the point.) In conversation with “Design Matters” podcast host Debbie Millman, Simpson invites you to find your own aesthetic — not by searching, but by listening. (Recorded at TEDNext 2025 on November 10, 2025)
