“Political cults are found on both the left and right”

*shows predominantly right winged groups 😑

Conservatives tend to conceptualize ideal society as strictly hierarchical whereas liberals tend to favor egalitarianism. Emphasis on tend. Anti-scientific mantra is also heavily skewed conservative in the USA. It would make sense that it would be easier to build a cult or conspiracy theory coalition amongst conservatives here.

Really? So not wanting to take 1 experimental vaccine makes someone a cult? Did insider interview all of the protestors and see if they have gotten any other vaccines before? What about pushing a lie that Russia is behind everything the left doesn’t like?

This is good info overall but if you think the government doesn’t have a significant number of pedophiles you’re delusional.

The biggest problem with conspiracy theories is that real conspiracies exist. That the things cults or conspiracy groups or other groups like that can sometimes have a some reason behind them, but that it’s twisted and exaggerated. That a group might be good, but bad apples get the most attention. Remember how back in the day heavy metal fans were considered satanist that eat cats? Remember how not that long ago gamers were considered to be mass killers in the making, that games teach children how to kill? So the people claiming that were conspiracy theorists and gamers were the cults? That’s a big issue in differentiating between what’s “wrong” and what’s “right”.

There’s also a problem of people with real concerns, asking valid questions, being outright laughed at and branded conspiracy theorists by the people that blindly follow the narrative. Who is more wrong – a person believing everything the One True TV Station says them, or the person asking “wait, that’s not all of what happened, what’s the context behind it?”?

Another problem is the biases ingrained within ourselves. On big bias is seen in this particular video, focusing on two modern issues that are more prevalent on one side of the political spectrum, while completely negating the other side, as if suggesting there’s no issue with the other side and there are no bad apples on one side, while the other is only the bad ones and no good. This bias is why I personally had to dislike the video, since it also shows a cult-like mentality, even if the content of what Dr. Lalich speaks is decent.

Real conspiracies are usually dumb and are outed because people are also dumb, like Iran-Contra or the Catholic child scandal.

“International finance” is definitely not charismatic, and also not a person.

    Lab leak – Conspiracy

Hey Libtard cultists are you awake yet? Or still in the propaganda trance?

    • Ryan Baker

      October 15, 2021 at 12:59 am

      The first two aren’t conspiracies.

Vaccine passports and booster shots have been around long before COVID.

The third is just silly speculation with no proof.

Also, you guys tell us all the time that COVID is 99% survivable, so why would someone design a bioweapon that only kills 1% of people?

It’s only a conspiracy if it’s false. If it’s true, with facts to back it up, it isn’t a conspiracy or a theory. The CIA coined the term, “conspiracy theory,” because they were trying to hide the truth that people were uncovering, so their answer was to brainwash people into thinking that truthers were conspiracy nuts.

    • Owen Slaughter

      October 16, 2021 at 11:53 pm

@H K I am looking at this by the criteria that has been set in this video and I am wondering if they would consider them a cult as well and if not I am wondering why. But I do see your point, but I am leaving my feelings out of this. Because frankly I don’t like the groups mentioned and I am not found of the others I have mentioned. @Ryan Baker I will admit they don’t have a leader, however as the video states you don’t need one over all leader, but people that rotate in positions of power and proselytize. Which each cell does and they say many of the same things. Which I am going off THOSE conditions stated in this video. If you want to say that they are not, that’s fine, however would you then say that Q, or the Proud Boys, aren’t? Because I would think that to be really foolish. Also the Burnt down Berkeley college.

    • Jim Mac

      October 18, 2021 at 1:10 am

@Owen Slaughter I have a hard time believing BLM, Antifa or Q are actually cults. I think people are just frustrated and looking for an outlet. When I think of cults, I think of people willing to die for a crazy belief. I highly doubt these people are willing to do more than wear a mask to participate in riots or spout slogan on social media.

@Owen Slaughter So, yes. If you take what the video is saying and apply it to the other groups, I would have to agree that they are also cults. But, my personal opinion is that none of them are fanatical enough to be labeled as such.

    • Jim Mac

      October 19, 2021 at 12:08 am

@Owen Slaughter When I think of a cult, I think of those people that are basically zombies that would do anything for their leader. Like all those people that killed themselves in the Heavans gate cult. I can’t see anyone in any of the groups we’ve talked about being that extreme.

  60. HutSut Ra

    October 16, 2021 at 5:57 pm

Conspiracy theory groups are basically cults without leaders- they have all the other characteristics. But it’s wrong to conflate the current anti-vaccine movement, which is political, with the old anti-vaxxers who were conspiracy theorists who distrusted both political parties. Conspiracy theories have gotten mainstreamed lately, but I think the majority of those opposed to COVID vaccines don’t believe in chemtrails and secret alien autopsies.

  61. Ridire Oíche

    October 16, 2021 at 7:17 pm

People who are self-conscious and measure their own value based on what others think, as well as those who are unable to accept responsibility for the negative things in their lives, are more likely to end up in a cult.
The following are a few questions to ask yourself if you think you might be in a cult:
1 “Do I agree with this?”
2 “Can I think of any faults or flaws with this?”
3 “Am I willing to voice my disagreement with the group?”
If the answer to any of these questions is ‘No’ you are in a cult. The more times you answered ‘No’ the deeper you are.

The most heartbreaking story I’ve heard about someone falling deep into QAnon was when the father of a parkland shooting survivor got in so deep he started to believe his own son was a paid trauma actor. There was an article about it and it absolutely shattered me. I cannot imagine the magnitude of damage that has been done to that boy and his family. Only a cult can turn someone like that. 😔

Why are you only showing right wing extremists and not left wing extremists as well I would say both are cult like. I also think proud boys and antifa are cults

It’s tough being so charismatic. I’m always having to tell people, “Please! People! Stop forming cults around me!” But they won’t let go, so I beat them and make them believe their worthless, but that just makes them want to please me more. Christ, I’ve got to make a batch of Kool Aid just to get some peace.

I guess it’s no wonder that during a time of so much fear and isolation we have seen such radical and violent groups popping up on all sides.

The strange thing that I’ve noticed about online disinformation is that the more it is attacked the more compelling it becomes and draws people in. It also tends to fire up those already in any type of disinformation circle.

Ummmmmm, am I the only one here who thinks she may as well be describing our government?
Put the shoe on the other foot!
You point the finger at “conspiracy theorists” stating they are part of a cult….
Well, let’s turn and point that finger at the people who are wearing masks and getting their jabs like good little cult members doing as their government leader tells them to!

  75. Greg Kral

    October 20, 2021 at 9:02 pm

I don’t think the the covid antivaxxers are cults in the way we think of cult, but by definition, yes, as are the vaxxers, the scare tactics, the destruction of businesses, those dividers at the till in the store who don’t wear a useless mask right are sure never sanitized, nor anything that others touch, then you got people driving their cars alone with masks, when was last time that steering wheel was sanitize?, there is too much evidence to make you very concerned. Why is everyone trying to stick you with a vaccine that is admitted to be low quality, untested as other vaccines, and they use tactics like bribes and social outcast status if you don’t have this one. I never took any flu shots in my life ,and normal seasonal flu is more dangerous than this new one, which does have a patent since 2014. This is social control. Had flu, got over it, this one does not scare me, especially after hearing so many doctors, nurses, medical experts in their fields, virologists, cellular and molecular biologists, heads of their field in their countries, and the lies, lies, lies. Mark of the beast is my instant take away. But I am comfortable being a hermit, have been most of life, and cool with it, but I did study religions and bilogy, chemistry, went to school for all that, and was telling folks to be on gaurd with the nonsense started in the 90’s, and when the immigrant nonsense in Germany and europe in general, told people…. just watch, I trust my own observations, not what is told by anyone else, especially the news who follow the same dialogue and key words everywhere in the world. You all have a mind, use it for yourself.

Hehehe, grandma told me when I was young, her great great grandpa told her that a spinning globe earth was Bs, cause “Marly, how do the potatoes stay in the cellar if we are spinning and flying so fast…. just cannot be… your school is lying to you, but we see lies in school everyday now with so much…. this ain’t terry Pratchett’s discworld sitting on four elephants on a flying space turtle. Brilliant satire that guy wrote.

I’m fed up with you using pictures of Druids. Druids do not have much of a belief system at all and an awful lot of different expressions. As you say, it’s not about the religion right?

It sucks, it sounds like DWS was founded on some good progressive ideas, but Dixon’s influence went to her head. A shame.
