Can technology create a democracy that’s fast, fair … and even fun? Digital minister Audrey Tang shares how Taiwan avoided a COVID-19 shutdown in early 2020 through innovations like developing apps to map mask availability, crowdsourcing ideas that could become laws and creating a “humor over rumor” campaign to combat disinformation with comedy. (This virtual conversation, hosted by TED science curator David Biello and current affairs curator Whitney Pennington Rodgers, was recorded June 1, 2020.)

The TED Talks channel features the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world’s leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes (or less). “Invite that person into co-creation workshops, but we are OK with that too” 12:43. What an interesting euphemism.

Hi! Here is literally the co-creation workshop in 2017:
The person presenting at 25m50s in that video was 卓志遠, the initiator of the petition “Tax-filing software is explosively difficult to use”.
We co-created the tax-filing experience in 2018 which had a 94%+ “satisfied” & “very satisfied” rating.

The man is right only we don’t have a civil society in America or anywhere anymore. I don’t even have civility within my own family. They are constantly wearing me down when I try to explain the simplest things about being cautious in this pandemic. They say “nobody tells me what to do”.🙄

That’s absolutely brilliant! Taiwan actually cares about their civilians, that’a amazing the things they’ve done to help everyone. Then the masks for free as well. Do they have a problem with people throwing them all over the place? I can only imagine how bad it’d get here if they were given out for free.

Maybe the west will take this as seriously as the east has, because they’ve be ready for over a decade for this! We’ve just been ignoring every warning from all the people who said it was coming, was just a matter of when! smh

Hold on why was a young boy required to wear a mask at all? It is absolutely delusional to enforce these things.
If your idea of democracy is believing every over blown statement by Govt officials and the mocking bird media, I want nothing at all to with it.
When TED first started it was brilliant. Over the years it has steadily deteriorated to the point now, that fascism is trying to sold as democracy.

Proud to be a Taiwanese is like proud to be an American, it’s meaningless, a Narrow minded person like Trump, or a person who has low self-esteem who would inflate something to look greater than it really is like Trump. It’s weakness, not virtue.

We are *NOT* in a pandemic = How can you test positive for something that has not been isolated? The RT-PCR is a manufacturing technique to replicate DNA billions of times, NOT a test to diagnose for viruses as the Nobel Peace Prize winner Ph.D Karry Mullis made clear and thus this supposed “TEST” is 100% false positive not 50%.= “The reason is that the intended use of the PCR was, and still is, to apply it as a manufacturing technique, being able to replicate DNA sequences millions and billions of times, and not as a diagnostic tool to detect viruses.” Jun 27, 2020 COVID19 “PCR Tests are Scientifically Meaningless” off-guardian DOT org/2020/06/27/covid19-pcr-tests-are-scientifically-meaningless/

In a part of the United States with more than 17,000 years of human history, cultural preservation advocate Tracie Revis is working to turn the Ocmulgee Mounds into Georgia’s first national park and preserve. This park would be co-managed by the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, bringing the tribal voice back to an area they were forcibly removed from 200 years ago. Revis explores the complex feelings of caring for this land and shows how it’s fostering healing in return.
