Really. I know people like this, and I also know what I’ve been through as well. It might not be your perspective, but that means you are lucky and/or were able to not experience it. That doesn’t mean it’s not others’ perspective; otherwise, even this video wouldn’t exist. Please don’t be arrogant like some people used to be and don’t take simple things as given. Nothing is, and to anyone.

@@PiotrKaszuba8403I’m definitely not arrogant. I would be interested to hear more how you deal with a situation like this. Just startling to hear that you can incapacitate yourself beyond hygiene even though it could be readily accessible. Seems like more of a self neglect/destructive result of depression rather than the depressions itself maybe.

@@Grey_mind people who are in that position, myself included once upon a time, lose connection with norms as intrusive thoughts and negative self-talk govern your existence. It’s an insidious loss of self-control, rather than a choice. I likened falling into it like falling into a well. The trip down is quick, and the trip back up is long and arduous.

Compassion is very important, especially when there is a lack of it from other people whom you used to trust, even with your life, and for whom you would be able to give your life if necessary. Be compassionate to yourself and others. This is what makes us human. P.S. There is a well-known book, ‘Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?’, which is actually a lot about this topic, even if it is initially known as dystopian science fiction. It is good and probably should be read by anyone.

The solution is in the work your avoiding. Although, we could have more compassion towards one another.

I haven’t seen the long version of this, but no, it’s like she’s addressing serious issues of depression and self-care in the face of it.
Is mean-spiritedness your default?
