I kinda feel this way about the entire social internet. All sites feel like they’re on a steep downward trend in quality, and the whole Internet has become consolidated around like 6 big sites too, so there’s no real alternatives with traction.

Youngsters: No delete? Put it this way … in 2002, storage was cheaper than bandwidth. They can’t imagine the 56k modem days where it took an entire day to download a full-feature film. George S. Patton doesn’t like giving up ground that had already conquered.

This is the best shrink show yet! Scott and Bridget bounce off each other so beautifully. Can we get an Apple Original series already? Or if we stick with letter C, there is CBS. (And rubber-faced Bridget playing the sane one in this episode? Priceless. I say this as someone quite into Harrison Ford’s Shrinking.) 😂😂😂

Windows doesn’t make most of these handhelds… the companies use windows on their tech. It’s not Microsoft’s issue, it’s lenovo’s and other conpanies who throw the hardware together.

The xbox runs well because it’s microsoft’s tech and microsoft’s software. Steam deck runs well because it’s Valve’s hardware and valve’s software.

It’s like having a Ford tempo and complaining because you bought an RX7 and can’t work on the engine.

You want simplicity get a switch or a steam deck.

You want to customize your experience get a windows’ handsheld.

Lenovo could have put the Z1 Extream from last year’s handheld and it would work better. Windows is a big fail but the Z Go chipset isnt very powerful

The Legion Go S looks like a kids toy. The track pad looks useless, the Z2 Go is underpowered, and the price is outrageous. Hopefully, the Steam OS version will be better, but it can’t fix those ugly ergonomics and that track pad. I like 32GB of RAM (imagine how much you could set aside for UMA frame buffer size) for resource heavy Windows and modern AAA games; which are becoming more demanding every few months that 16GB is barely enough to get by with some of them. Problem is 32GB of RAM is useless on an underperforming Z2 Go.

Love these guys but had to stop watching because of the many filler words “like”. I would pay a lot of money if someone would come up with a filter to take out filler words in real time. You can cut them out in Adobe’s Premiere Pro with a little effort, how much harder could it be to just use ai to cut them out of anything we want to listen to from live to recordings?

  29. @sandk75

    February 22, 2025 at 11:06 pm

I love this, thanks Scott and Bridget!

  30. @nathanjuan6042

    February 23, 2025 at 4:52 am

Yeah, he’s just blaming Windows for no reason instead of looking at the actual hardware. The Legion Go S has an AMD Z2 Go, which is weaker than the Z1 Extreme in the original Legion Go and ROG Ally X. That alone explains why it’s underperforming—it’s not Windows, it’s the chip.

People love to say, “Windows is bad for handheld gaming,” but in reality:

Legion Go (Z1 Extreme) and ROG Ally X handle PC games just fine.
The Z2 Go is weaker, so obviously, performance won’t be as good.
Windows gives you full access to all PC games, unlike SteamOS, which has compatibility issues with anti-cheat and non-Steam games.
Honestly, it sounds like the guy didn’t even test other Windows handhelds before complaining. If Windows were the issue, then the Ally X and Legion Go (Z1 Extreme) wouldn’t run games smoothly—but they do.

    February 23, 2025 at 11:06 am

8mwas thinking about getting a Lenovo Go or S for the games that aren’t playable on the Steam Deck. Saw it in the store and it was HUGE for a portable. Not sure about the new Go S now, especially for the price.

  32. @DrwZacc

    February 23, 2025 at 1:54 pm

I too had hopes for the Lenovo Legion Go S. After checking reviews at Best Buy from people who purchased it the main issue is that the entry level Ryzen Z2 Go at 4 CPUs is just not powerful enough for a modern device. Coming in at $730 US is way too much, I can see why they have limited specs on the Steam OS version to hit the $400 dollar price point. But reducing its memory and storage space is just going to result in a worse performing device and at that point, why not buy a Steam Deck. Lenovo Legion Go S should have come with the Ryzen Z2 for the base model and then an option for a flagship version using the Ryzen Z2 Extreme. It’s a shame that this device is DOA. If they don’t tweak the Steam OS version that one will be DOA as well.
