At 100% SoC and 375 miles of range, a Tesla Model S going at an average speed of 65 mph would last 5.76923077 hours (5 hours 46 minutes 9 seconds). Even with wind resistance, rolling resistance, and excessive temperatures, it would still be more than 3 hours. I’ve driven my Tesla Model X which has 95 miles less range than the Model S more than 3 hours. The slower the average speed the longer the time it can go. Your bladder may not make it that long depending on your fluid intake before the trip.

I like seeing electric tech developing like this. I’ve seen electric tractors, snowmobiles, big rigs, etc. They’ll keep getting better in time. Glad CNET made this video.

It would cut down on the noise for the people on the beach.

Notice how he’s yelling during the higher speed test? It’s still gonna be decently loud on board, and still going to make noise for beach-goers.

Some sage advice. Never buy a 1st generation of a brand new product. Wait a generation or two or more. Unless you’ve got the money to burn/waste.

The 3-5 hour battery life makes that option almost non existent.

  14. WACC Warlord

A lot of comments here seem to not understand that most large boats have battery racks and electric motors. They use what is essentially a diesel generator to power electric motors and battery bays. This is also how many train locomotives work. When you have a large enough vehicle diesel electric is more efficient than normal combustion.

So, we have been keepjng large battery bays dry on boats for decades. That being said a fully electric boat without anyway to add additional energy while in use is a terrible idea. Look how big that boat is without any below deck galley or sitting area, its all batteries. Terrible design.

For $300k u get a 24ft that cant handle chop, needs access to charging ports, only does 40 mph. Theres a bunch of gas boats will do everything better at less than half the price. Thumbs up for creating but the tech just isnt there yet

Beautiful boat. But jeezus, all sold out at $300K. There’s a lot of rich people out there.
