yup the bezel is boss just cancelled my pre order after some thought, my wife has watch 4 i just couldn’t do it. i have the watch 3 ill keep it until it dies or samsung bring back that rotating bezel.

Watch4 Classics with rotating bezel vs Watch5 Pro ,, I can see the useless black area around the screen in 5 Pro which might be the space used for rotating bezel in 4 Classis … So why they removed it ? I would welcome bigger OLED screen in 5 Pro instead of the rotating bezel of 4 Classis in that space !!!

I just compared Watch 5 vs 5 Pro vs 4 Classis on GSMARENA
they have exactly same hardware and screen size + Thermometer that will cost you 5$ from pharmacy.
They made new OS for new ones and added some extra gps tracking software to 5 Pro
I think I’m going for Watch 5 (which exact regular 4) or 4 classics

Depends on how much you like using it over glass and how much finger prints bother you really.
It was the main reason besides having a round watch face (to blend in and yet look modern) for buying the initial classic watch, however I must admit that the bezel can fail at some point and having a digital bezel is a good compromise to not fully lose the rotating navigation while getting a cleaner watch frame.
If it saves weight for getting a bigger battery why not. We are already so used to navigation on a glass surface on mobile, perhaps this will help to finally make the switch, while still sticking to a round face as opposed to square like apple that screams SMARTWATCH. =)

@johnny_Rain perhaps it was the only way to upgrade to a bigger screen and larger battery to help with performance in WearOS to match Tizen experience on the old classic, why not or why sacrificing that. But yeah perhaps they’ll keep the classic in parallel for a while but with smaller specs.

Honestly, no bezel… no update for me. I really like the bezel and use it all the time. It’s a shame that Samsung chose to ditch it.

Maybe bye bye rotating bezel…. but the screen it self got some huge black bezel 🙁 Wish the screen was edge to edge….
And is it me… but the watch seems to look big and thick….
And for the Pro one, aside the battery??
Now i’m curious to see what Apple will showcase in less than 1 month…. and also we still have Google Pixel watch too 🙂

When you show that on the charger it just looks ugly. Would maybe drop down and get the 4 classic but they never turned on all the stuff it should do and battery life sucks on it. Time to check out the Garmin

Same processor , same RAM , updates will give all the bells and whistles as the GW4 so I’d suggest take a year off on upgrading if you really like the physical bezel . I’ll bet it’ll be back next year

I like running and exploring around somewhere i dont even know and i easily got lost because of it, while my phone easily drain the battery due to hot temperature outside, i think this watch will have more benefits for me. Already pre order watch5 pro, buds pro 2 and 1tb fold. i wish it wont let me down as this is my first time buying really expensive gear.

It’s what stopped me from preordering, and I just found it out here as well. Subscription models and locking features to specific devices really just feel like Apple marketing to me. I really wanted to like the Pro model. I’ll wait now and see what Ticwatch, Google, and others release.

I’m not techie smart- need HELP from those that are! Month ago got good trade in offer my orginal gear bt model, for a 4- lte model. Hate that all the awesome features I have to really pick & choose carefully because the battery drains so fast. Horrible! Old one was so much better. Barely lasts the day not using many features at all! Also had issues with LTE working without my phone nearby, wld say emergency calls only. Verizon couldn’t even figure out why. Researched saw lot of people have same issue. Lte use for me works random. The 5 specs are same beside the sapphire glass, temp bio & bigger battery. (Pro to big for me.) On reg 5 how much of an increase of battery life will it give you??? Is it worth upgrading this Month NEW Frustrating Watch? Pd $165. With trade in offer is $145-165 Cost wld be another $165. Plus pre order get free 89.00 charger. Thoughts appreciated

That watch 5 pro is such a disappointment. Why would they make a sporty watch, and then make an even sportier watch? It makes zero sense. I’m not an athletic person and just want a good looking watch. And that removal of the bezel is such a let down. That bezel is what made made samsung galaxy watches different. Now it’s just another smart watch with absolutely zero standout features. Such a disappointment. Will definitely be sticking with my watch 4 classic

I had Galaxy Watch 46, Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. I was waiting for a bigger battery Watch 5 pro but when I saw how ugly it is I ordered a Huawei Gt 3 Pro. I’m not comming back to Samsung too soon :
1. It is way way more premium . Huawei is like a premium classy watch vs a Swatch ( Samsung) . It is an accessory after all, it should look premium, or at least cool . If I would buy it only for sport reasons there is Garmin and nothing else
2. Battery is way, way, way better than any Samsung watch ( Watch 4 classic hardly took me an entire hard day with training, calls on watch, alarms, AOD , notifications etc etc)
3. Display is way more beautifull ( I don’t understand how )
4. It is way , way more responsive, it is like a flagsip smartphone. Samsung responds like a first generation smartphone….
5. Sensors are better : heartrate, gps, etc
6. Has ROTATING LATERAL BUTTON – extremely satisfying to use vs Samsung just got rid of it’s rotating bezzel
7. Way, way more watch faces and better

I think their going backwards with the watch. I had the G4 and returned it and had my original Galaxy repaired. Better battery life, bezel and watch faces are better on the original. It also doesn’t look cheap like the newer watches.

Be aware that they are forcing hidden charges for this watch 5. The listed price did not include a watch band and they add on an $80 charge for a band with no option to remove and get your own. Very shady marketing practice
