but the thin black bezels are irritating on the edges.

The galaxy A54 Now with 50mp with sony sensor imx766 that is the same as from galaxy s23 and s23 plus for better low light photography

    • Frank Reynolds

      March 28, 2023 at 9:40 am

Yes major specs are same but S23/+ uses Samsung gn3 sensor.

My friend went from the previous version to the pixel 6a.
6a works and feels much better. Something cheap Samsung phones have been notoriously known to age badly

It’s worth buying for someone who seeks new phone to replace old/broken one but for those who wants to upgrade from a53 then better wait for next one. Tbh the spec it offers are allign to the “midrange” spec along with the price. People shouldnt expect the phone to have the same performance as flagship spec but instead it actually perform decent when compared to flagship smartphone and some other spec it might be better than flagship like battery. Its good phone tbh.

I currently have an almost 4 year old a30s, I think the a54 will be an amazing upgrade for me

      March 28, 2023 at 4:19 pm

From a71 to a54 is gonna be a huge little upgrade, but it’s worth it

I somehow feel sad that for people from developed countries, the A54, a phone that costs $499 is considered a budget phone whereas over here in countries where i am from, the Philippines, it is considered expensive and cant be afforded even by the middle class. Budget phones here are those $100-$200 phones from Chinese brands. Samsung is considered a Premium Brand, and dont even get me started on iPhones. Only the rich can afford iPhones. It is just amazing how different the lifestyle is of people from developed countries vs developing countries.

    • Zachary Ferguson

      March 28, 2023 at 4:47 pm

The A14 5g is $199.99 & actually a decent phone! Little slow at times

    • Paso Meth

      March 28, 2023 at 8:21 pm

Lol. Im from Philippines and you’re telling me that only rich can buy iPhones????????????????????. Many people are buying in Greenhills and FB marketplace. It’s so cheap dude like 200usd to 400usd for xs to iPhone 11. Many Filipinos are buying 2nd hand iPhones in Greenhills and FB. For brand new, many working Filipinos get it in Globe or Smart Telecom Plans for 24months. And about middle class cant afford 499usd phones here? Are you really in Philippines? You must be talking lower class.

Even MKBHD in Waveform Clips youube video demonstrated the global sales of iPhones even in 3rd world countries are getting very high as more people are buying 2nd hand iPhones than new midrange or old flagship android phones.

    • Paso Meth

      March 28, 2023 at 8:21 pm

I agree with you though that 100-200usd are considered budget phones here in Philippines

    • Paso Meth

      March 28, 2023 at 8:22 pm

Also, 499usd android phones are actually midrange phones. The title of this video is wrong.

    • Timothy Reed

      March 28, 2023 at 8:30 pm

Another interesting fact is that only the rich can afford to spend money on brand recognition for an iPhone that is far inferior to other options in that price point.

    Imagine a Phone with headphone Jack , wireless charging, 144hz refresh rate , AMOLED Screen , HDR 10+ , NFC , WIFI-6 , 5G , 7000 MaH battery at just $200.

    March 28, 2023 at 4:33 pm

My 2 year old Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G is still better than the A54. It only lacks waterproof rating.

Don’t be poor and buy s23 ultra

  21. Adil Khan

    March 28, 2023 at 7:12 pm

I prefer sticking to a52 5g as it has headphones jack neither a53 or a54 does , that’s disappointing

  22. con artist

    March 28, 2023 at 7:50 pm

    it’s not a “budget” phone you fools. It’s a “Migrange/midtier” FYI:
    1. FLAGSHIPS
    2. MIDRANGE/MIDTIER
    3.LOWRANGE/LOWTIER
    4. Then you have the BUDGET phones.

  23. Timothy Reed

    March 28, 2023 at 8:28 pm

Are CNET just Google Pixel shills? One huge thing that you forgot to mention is the Samsung Galaxy A54 takes a micro-sd card when virtually no flagship devices do nowadays.

    • Transportion Headquarters

      March 29, 2023 at 3:43 pm

This is the one channel that probably hugely favors Pixel phones

  24. Daryl Brunetti

    March 28, 2023 at 9:03 pm

Please make sure to test the Bluetooth capability on this phone when it does release, as there are known issues on the A53 that Samsung has been ignoring. For many users of different brands/models/years of certain cars, the Bluetooth sounds robotic and garbled to the person on the other line.

I’ll wait for your review, because I’m on the fence on this phone. Plus I want to see a comparison review between the A54 and the 6a. I also feel that Samsung is starting to overprice their phones just like Apple. Google is finally getting smart about this. Thanks!

  29. Eric Luisen

    March 29, 2023 at 12:07 am

I hope everyone can buy it, because I can’t buy a new one, even a budget phone, while I’m using my old phone realme c2 2019 model???? I’m ready to accept anyone who gives even if it’s a used phone????

why not add 150 dollar to buy s23…. a54 is too expensive

  36. KanatLSE

    March 29, 2023 at 6:14 am

Owners of Galaxy s23+ are so disappointed, why make the same design?))) Such a stupid move from samsung… People buy expensive phones also for their design, i would even say that they buy them predominantly because of the design… and here you go and give the design of the premium phone to a budget phone…. taking into account that the basic features are completely the same for both phones, why would you then expect people overpay, idiots…. galaxy S users will switch to some other brand next time definitely…

  37. G Four Gadget

    March 29, 2023 at 6:44 am

The bezels just keep on growing on the A series. That’s a huge step backwards!

    • Blue

      March 29, 2023 at 2:32 pm

true, intentionally doing it to ruin the design and make it uglier than the S series… the Nord 2 even if also midrange/cheaper has smaller bezels..

  38. Evisaint

    March 29, 2023 at 6:45 am

    It’s upper midrange phone

  39. Unlocking Smartphones

    March 29, 2023 at 8:28 am

price is too much for the specifications

  40. Somewhere South

    March 29, 2023 at 8:44 am

Comparing the specs to the current A53, this A54 is worse?
Xiaomi is releasing 200w charging and this is still stuck on 25w!?

  41. Joost Visser

    March 29, 2023 at 11:12 am

    those bezels.

  42. R is een letterrr

    March 29, 2023 at 12:41 pm

A perfect phone, I have the white one. Face id works very good. I have an sd card in it also and you can use e-sim!
Here in The Netherlands I paid €479. So that’s not a budget phone, but worth the price! I am happy with this phone. My son has the A53 and the A54 is really a update ????

  43. Nik Muhd Hafiz Harun

    March 29, 2023 at 1:44 pm

    A73/A52s still a beast over A54

  44. Christopher John

    March 29, 2023 at 4:00 pm

Makukuwa na ni Candice bukas yung phone. YES!!!

  45. Guilherme Luppi

    March 29, 2023 at 8:53 pm

Bigger bezels than the last gen and an Exnyos chip inside. That’s a no no for me. Also, it’s far from a budget phone.

  46. The Engineer

    March 29, 2023 at 9:06 pm

All this money for a phone and you don’t have a headphone jack ????

  47. MD Ashraful Alam Shahriar

    March 29, 2023 at 9:30 pm

    thanks for sharing.
could you tell us what camera sensor has been used and what is the storage type??

  48. George Tsonev

    March 30, 2023 at 5:41 am

Personally, I’ve never cared about the camera setup in a smartphone, but boy I miss the headphone jack. Maybe I will keep my A42 5G for a bit longer

  49. TechoniMusic

    March 30, 2023 at 9:07 am

A52S still doesn’t allow you to get this phone. There’s no point.

  50. Living Dead

    March 30, 2023 at 11:53 am

LMAO, $450 and 1380? I will wait for the Nothing Phone (2) instead.
