Foldable phones will catch on in the US once Apple releases their refined version.

In Germany I see a lot of Galaxy Z Flips in public, but I never saw a Z Fold, because it’s to expensive for most people. As long as the Z Folds will be so expensive, I will stick to my iPhone as the Flip doesn’t bringt any advantage for me

Yeah I hoping Samsung make fold lite. Like I’m ok if they use 2 year hardware and cut down on camera , to reduce overall price

Folding phones nice gadget , but wait till you accidentally damage the soft screen inside, one free repair then your on your own . Good luck with that ????????

The original Galaxy Note with a 5.3 inch screen was a called a gimmick at first also. Now we have 6.7 inch iPhones ????

I have a Flip-3. I bought it for the cool factor. Ultimately, I like how compact it is when folded.

Looks like they’re all Souled on flip phones over there..*rim shot* I love my Flip 5 over the 4. The cover screen is actually useful now. My one main gripe is that the fingerprint sensor is so sensitive that whenever I pull out my phone from my pocket, it tries to register any finger that touches it. So b y the time I get it out my pocket, it has been locked from fingerprint use and I’m required to enter the pin. The 4 didn’t do this.

They just aren’t durable enough. But I have seen them for cheap now but Even at 650 bucks they’re tempting at best but I know too many clumsy people and I drop my phone from time to time. Instant death. So for me, it’s a screen protalector 100%

I’ve owned two, it’ll be a while before im back to a foldable. Honestly I want Apple or someone to start pushing for satcom phones, all of these foldables will take the backseat once someone releases a satcom phone and everyone’s going to rush to put out their own version.

    • Jason

      August 24, 2023 at 6:11 pm

Sat com phones will not work indoors you do realize they need access to satellites. There is absolutely no need for them when LTE towers are already everywhere. ????‍♂️

    • OW

      August 24, 2023 at 6:25 pm

@Jason then the phone will switch to wifi or cellular. There’s plenty of spots around the world with no cell reception. Rural America is one of them, I was in the Maldives with no cell reception and reliant on the wifi in the room but had nothing on the beach. Cmon man think outside of the box ????????‍♂️

This will also allow people to travel and not have to purchase a cellular plan, hence why Apple and supposedly Google is getting rid of a physical sim tray. Kind of no need for it if these phone manufacturers are going to sell satcom plans to people.

It’s not the phone that I don’t like, it’s the operating system that they run.
The phone / hardware is Awesome but OS is still too messy for me. You have to agree to Samsungs terms and googles terms both. Was always a chore to get simple things to work like visual voicemail.

I have both the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 and now the Google Pixel Fold and both have been very good in their own ways. The Z Flip 3 is compact and easy to slip in my dress shirt pocket for work. The Pixel Fold is a true beast. I can be very productive by making docs, taking terrific photos and making TikTok videos. I believe the versatility of the foldable phone will make this the phone of the future.

I want one but the high prices have been holding me back, id rather wait until the market becomes more accessible to everyone or buy used off the market

I’d definitely consider getting a foldable phone but I dislike Android. I’d wait for Apple to do their version. I’m also concerned for the durability as that one woman said she’s gone through four phones already.

  31. SuperG50 Zero

    August 25, 2023 at 6:10 am

I’m here in the US and some of my coworkers saw my new Z flip 5 and were commenting on how cool it is with its features and small screen. I doubt they’ll buy one though, flip phones need to get bigger batteries and better cameras if they want to compete or Apple releasing a flip iPhone would put it mainstream here in the US.

  32. Zion Gallant

    August 25, 2023 at 6:30 am

Just got the Fold 5. Great phone and a very good starting point. Its just the Apple zoo in America that makes them rare. When more people get their hands on them, they’ll realize how unique they are. It’s nice to stand out from the smartphone crowd ????

OpenClaw creator Peter Steinberger takes us back to the transformative moment he let his AI agent loose on the internet, igniting one of the world’s fastest-growing open-source projects. He makes a fascinating (and slightly unnerving) case that agents are a real shift, not just better versions of chatbots, and explores how they might reshape your ability to work, build and create. “The lobster is loose, and it’s not going back into the tank,” he says.
