I’m not really worried about modern foldables breaking from just by folding and unfolding since it was never an issue. I’m more concerned about drops damaging the hinge, the screen cracking when unfolding it in the cold, and dust getting inside causing dead pixels on display.

@wrewrwr1 have you watched teardowns?cases exist with hinge protection.

I am not concerning the folding. I am concerning the folding machine.

  11. @SilverKing1901

    October 29, 2026 at 2:51 pm

They’re meant to befall that dude as long as they don’t get a crease the screen should be okay the problem is dropping it one time

  12. @itsacookie1

    October 29, 2026 at 2:53 pm

I do wonder if the cracking displays are a batch defect or are people doing something weird when opening and closing? If it were a design defect surely this would also break?

You can never plan for user error.

It is probably a lot of people’s first to me using a folding phone and probably press down REALLY hard on the inside which is always a big no no

  13. @탄산슈우

    October 29, 2026 at 4:03 pm

Why the obvious bias? You literally abused the Galaxy Fold 1 with high-speed aggressive folding, but for Apple’s iPhone Duo, you’re folding it like it’s made of fragile porcelain.😂😂😂😂😂😂

      nope

  16. @NeonVisual

    October 29, 2026 at 5:44 pm

Now angle it how someone would actually open their phone instead of flat, and watch that hinge fall to pieces

  17. @Gouer

    October 29, 2026 at 5:54 pm

Now take off and put on the table😂

  18. @nestorsanchez1067

    October 29, 2026 at 6:00 pm

This is not a good test because its only folding it one way

  19. @Smoothsailing7

    October 29, 2026 at 6:18 pm

    Is the hinge hot yet??

  20. @Ak2mc1

    October 29, 2026 at 6:20 pm

I dare you to sprinkle a little dirt on it

  21. @dns1701

    October 29, 2026 at 6:26 pm

Glad you’re doing this sort of test. I bet Apple never bothered with it as part of their R&D.

    • @DaveBartholomew-uf6sm

      October 29, 2026 at 7:53 pm

Actually, I would bet they did this over and over again. They don’t take this stuff lightly.
