Why can’t our schools use these types of chrome books? Eh anyways I’m fine on my personal m1 Mac but anytime I touch my school-provided Chromebook, it scares me.

Budgets. I worked in K-12 as a tech person and you are just restricted financially; it’s like they think tech is an afterthought.

      March 1, 2021 at 7:02 pm

Cuz $699 per laptop for 100s or even 1000s of students is too much for school budgets

Why would anyone buy chrome book over iPads. I mean the productivity on a basic iPad plus pencil is much more than any chrome book

    • Qimat Swift

      March 1, 2021 at 7:36 pm

And you can get one with an A12 for $200 less than this.

    • misfortune architect

      March 1, 2021 at 8:54 pm

you can store files locally on a chromebook, also you can run linux apps like steam, although i don’t think i’ve seen anyone release a chrome os device capable of running cs:go, maybe with tiger lake chips that is possible.

  27. Gary Caron

    March 2, 2021 at 8:06 am

I purchased the previous model. Yup, battery life is a pain, but I use it at home as my main daily driver and cannot believe the screen quality. Pricey a year ago but coming down to match the higher-end Chromebook 2 2021 so that is a plus. For those who love windows machines, well they will always point out a Samsung Flex is a better machine and, if you settle for windows, it would be, Nice review,

This first look is a mess as you still go from the new one to the old one and back. One single table with parameter differences would be more helpful.

You’d be better off buying galaxy tab s7 that has got a lot more value than a laptop with 4 gb ram and 64 gb storage nd a celeron processor! Dont make the mistake of buying this laptop. Or you could get an ipad air 4 that can last you at least 5 yrs.

  36. Eshaan

    March 2, 2021 at 1:38 pm

Rather get a macbook air for 799 dollars on student discount with 128 gb ssd…..i mean what would u do with 12 hour battery on a celeron chip.πŸ™„

  44. TuckerMan

$700 for an i3 and no FPS or S Pen, Nope πŸ‘ŽπŸ». I’d go with a Windows machine before getting this.

    Sent from my S21 Ultra.

Oh yeah, all the excuse making on the part of the “reviewer” really lends credence to this coming off as a paid advertisement.

Looks good, just too expensive for that spec and considering its running Chrome OS which isnt ideal for everyone to use.
