I really don’t get the yanks, they say that the Su-57 is a copy-paste of F-35, when it’s clearly not, is not as advanced, is not as stealthy, and the Russians always preferred to use cheaper, sturdy fighters that can be produced in large numbers. Where’s exactly the copy then?

5:20 I don’t want to contradict him because I’m certainly less experienced, but I’m fairly confident that the F-35A doesn’t have thrust vectoring of any kind. Slightly confused why he would claim that.

Saying the su57 is a copy of the f35 shows a lack of knowledge about the aircraft.

    • MaddoxLyrics

      February 11, 2023 at 8:02 pm

but it is….. of course its more like the F-22 which they sadly didnt mention in this video, but it was directly made because of the F-22 Raptor, despite it not matching the Raptors capabilities perfectly, including stealth which the Su-57 failed to do, So slight correction but hes mostly right, that is why it has a NATO designation as the “Felon”

    • The0riginalTwo

      February 11, 2023 at 8:08 pm

@MaddoxLyrics now that’s more like it, also it has “superior” manouverability to the F-22 due to the wing design and the engine exhaust being manouverable like on the F-35. Superior in quotes since one shouldn’t trust what the Russians say about their own equipment.

    • MaddoxLyrics

      February 11, 2023 at 8:15 pm

@The0riginalTwo pretty much, except its very similar in maneuvering to the F-22 because both the F-22 and Su-57 have thrust vectoring, the only difference is the Su-57 has 3D thrust vectoring vs the F-22’s 2D thrust vectoring, so a slight edge to the Su-57 in maneuvering but it isnt a big difference, and they were actually wrong about the F-35’s nozzle moving, it only moves on the VTOL Navy model of the F-35, and its not thrust vectoring, its for VTOL purposes only, so, surprising that a real pilot is getting these facts wrong lol

    • The0riginalTwo

      February 11, 2023 at 8:22 pm

@MaddoxLyrics even worse if he is a naval pilot who flew the F-35

The great thing about America is the founding fathers, American history and the US constitution. It’s a free country. The best parts of human history were won by moral conservatives in the Revolutionary War, the Civil War & WW2. In the US civil war the Union Army was formed by moral Christian solders that believed in freedom & equality, not forced equity. Free speech, individualism and the right to bear arms. That’s part of what the alt-left hates, freedom.

Good thing I hadn’t eaten lunch yet. Same plane that did the same maneuvers on forward air controller missions in World War Two. Last year, I happened to meet a former F-14 pilot who now flies Boeing 777s for a major U.S. airline. He was inspired to fly after the original Top Gun and he didn’t think he would be able to be an F-14 pilot. He really loved what he did! At some point, he was ready for a new job and decided to fly for one of the airlines flying passengers. He was super humble to the point where he paid for my hotel bus fee even though I told him he didn’t have to. He embodied the best of what the U.S. Navy has to offer!

Good analysis, until you misidentified the capability of the F-35’s engine “nozzle actually moves to make the aircraft turn tighter in a turn circle and also to fire off weapons.” Worked on the F-35 test program for over 15 years. No, the engine nozzle didn’t move to make the plane turn tighter. The nozzle on the F-35B did rotate down in the jet borne flight regime mode (i.e. vertical maneuvering). In the up and away mode, the nozzle was fixed aft. The rest of his F-35 analysis was spot on. Also, great comments on the other aircraft, although as a Tomcat pilot, the truth is always a bit hard to endure.

Nah the Su-57 isn’t a copy of the F-35. That would be FC-31. The Su-57 is essentially a Su-35 with a better radar and internally carried weapons. Not a stealth fighter at all.

The F-35C doesn’t have any thrust vectoring of any kind. Only the F-35B does, and even then that is purely for its VTOL capabilities, not dogfighting. As for the Su-57, it has nothing related to the F-35 in any way. It was designed as a response to the F-22 and even then the design philosophy is drastically different (because they’re designed for different mission profiles). The real F-35 “copy” is the Chinese J-31 and J-35.

  195. @cdatlas

    December 31, 2023 at 2:27 am

At about 5:30 you’ve basically inferred that the F-35 has thrust vectoring which is incorrect. The F-35B nozzle rotates downward for STOVL but it is not vectored thrust. Neither the F-35A nor F-35C nozzles rotate. The F-35C, operated by the USN, has larger wings and landing gear but again, no thrust vectoring.

I think the f-35 actually doesn’t have the thrust vectoring compared to the f-22. It was kind of a neat thing to have but in bvr, losing all that speed is a fun way to get shot by a radar guided missile

  259. @jonakim3106

    February 3, 2024 at 1:06 am

The Su-57 is probably more comparable to the F-22 than the F-35. Both the Su-57 and F-22 both were developed in the 80s-90s era where militaries wanted multi-role fighters that also had ISR and electronic warfare capabilities. Each jet has it’s fans, but objectively speaking both have very commendable specifications and capabilities. However it is difficult to truly evaluate them for a few reasons. There are only 187 production F-22s ever produced that saw limited combat; we never truly got to see the F-22 pushed to its limit in a real combat situation. As for the Su-57, only 22 production models were every produced and were similarly underutilized. Plus the Su-57 was revealed much later than the F-22 and utilized much of the stolen military knowledge of the F-22 and the growing importance of ISR in the battle space.

Su 57 is a fifth gen fighter so there may be some common feature that would match with other fifth gen fighters like F-35..But there’s a huge difference between F 35 and SU 57 Felon..SU 57 has better maneuverability than F35 also has a more combat radius ..on the other hand, F-35 has better stealth feature..And both fighters are differently designed .. SO initially you cannot claim that SU57 is a copy paste of F35 unless you are an American..

As a Russian I would like to remember all US citizens reading these comments and this mister big shot that Russian airplanes are not carbon copies. They are the result of thousands of USSR constructors working jointly for the sake of the nation. I would also like to remember this mister big shot that his country lost in USA-Vietnam war and US pilots did not participate in any air battle with the opponent equal in strength. The only two thing USA is good at are media and carpet bombing countries that were not even able to take an even battle. Russian pilots, however, are the best in the world and they have no need to brag about this on YouTube

Former fighter pilot doesn’t know much about f35. The f35B thrust vector nozzle is only for v/s takeoff and v landing, not maneuvering, and the A and C models don’t have it. Bro is thinking F22. Also the su57 is more akin to f22 than f35. F35 is a multi role like f16 and f18 where the f22 and su57 are primarily air superiority fighters

I disagree about the SU 57. It was jointly developed by Sukhoi, Russia and HAL, India. And it look more like the F-22 rather than the F-35. Also, you forgot to explain the Kvochur maneuver that the Su57 pilot pulled off.

i wanted to be in the business since i was 15 but i was iranian and not really fond of the government or its f5 s
now im 23 and too old to enter
never really had the chance to go anywhere
outside iran im probably an enemry spy who should not even enter and inside im a heretic who should be hanged
long story short chance is not something everyone has

The most amazing among the scenes I’ve seen here is not the planes scene but the General who remained standing while the Darkstar flew over him displacing almost everything except said General. I suspect that he is an advanced, superpowered, 20-ton cyborg that’s why he didn’t move an inch 😎
