    CNET shoud only cover electronics

CNET never only covered electronics. They’ve at least covered software, too. And this is technology related, so it’s CNET-adjacent.

They lack melanin and probably why they dying out. Odd that someone would lab make these animals with lack of melanin, yet not surprising.

These methods will be used to bring forward the next generation of AI. Biological systems process information faster and use less heat than hardware systems.

It’s an impressive feat, but it’s not “deextinction” in any real sense. They didn’t create dire wolves. They created gray wolves that look like dire wolves. It’s like taking a gray wolf and slathering CGI on it until it looks like a dire wolf.

If they want to create a dire wolf, they need to take actual dire wolf DNA and use that to make a hybrid.

The term should not be de extinction, the term should be playing G-d. While it is normal to mourn the extinction of animals that once roamed the Earth, to try and bring them back to life is WRONG.

If i geneticaly modified a ham sandwich to have brown ham, yellow lettuce, and rounder bread slices, you wouldn’t call it a cheesburger.
