It’s not blasphemy. Society has never been religion centric. Only certain groups. each one of those groups are vying to be the top of all religions.
As a whole the majority of the human race doesn’t care about religion.
And that’s not blasphemy since blasphemy literally can only be if you deny what Jesus has done right in front of his human presence. And Jesus has been dead for over two thousand years now.

Yeah, the early animation is a little(quite) bad. Might be the best part of the live action. Also there are some newer rereleases with betterish animation. I don’t remember exactly where they can be watched though.
