I would rather fight mushroom people then starve to death and watch my house flood due to rising water levels lol. Such good games. I like that we know almost nothing about mushrooms. We know a lot, we don’t describes so many things now. I often wonder how Miguel it would have been to see electricity for the first time or the first elephant. Maybe space and mushrooms and the ocean are our version of that.

Slime molds are not fungi, by the way. They can’t all be properly grouped together, but none of them are fungi. The one that did the Japan train network thing is Physarum polycephalum, part of the Amoebozoa phylum.

I just recently read ‘The Secret Life of Fungi’ by Aliya Whiteley, and if you read it, I can guarantee you, you’ll look at fungi in a whole new light beyond the psilocybe trip you may have taken in college. I know I did.

@3:47 I like this guys passion but he mispronounced Trilobites. @11:50 I agree with him cows are the most mistreated exploited animal on Earth which is sad because they are emotionally intelligent. They are abused in large chain dairy farms with holes bored into their stomachs where grass is forced in(because they NEVER get to socialize outside and graze for grass nor see the sun they have no comforts) then after 7 years of basically torture they get killed for meat and their skin. How degrading and disgusting there are better ways to eat and wear clothes entitled humans. Any human that knows what large chain dairy cows go through and still drinks unsourced dairy and eats supermarket beef is essentially an evil person with nigh no morals compass.

In 2010, I would have “liked” this discourse – In 2023, (un)fortunately, it sounds like regurgitation; skimming the surface of YT for countless other informative and original videos on microbiomes, fungi, and ecology.

Especially when he mentioned “tribolites”, not trilobites – may have just been a slip of the tongue but it kinda feels like he’s just repeating things he’s heard, not recalling things he’s learned.
