I have this on my EV6 and Chevy Volt. Absolutely love open pilot, would not buy a car that’s not compatible with it!

@Frosty it works on nearly any car that will listen to the “hey turn the steering wheel right/left”. But – every car is not listening for these commands. (And the commands to speed up/slow down.)

how will comma pivot as manufacturers are having their full self driving cars? what is the future of comma with GM ultra cruise for example???

I think the biggest thing would be that stock system have to abide by special rules that require driver monitoring via steering touch every few seconds and the cameras they use don’t tend to be as great. Whereas Comma or (OP) can make software updates to work with new features in the cars stock system to come up with new models that make it more relaxing to drive the car. For example I just got a 2023 Honda Pilot and the system it comes with is extremely impressive, but I still have to touch the steering wheel and I notice that it loses the lane lines more then Comma does. I can do an entire drive from New Jersey to Florida without touching the steering wheel once. The stock system however makes me feel like I am still driving the car rather than the system doing it for me.

This works in way more places than GM supercruise

I’ve had my comma 3 since November 2022 and I am so dependent on the automatic lane centering that I’ve nearly sideswiped someone because I forgot that my cruise control was off. Can the comma 3 be modified to beep at you if it’s turned off? Lol I don’t like driving without it. For daily driving I use experimental mode . Stopping at traffic lights and stop signs is 97% reliable. However, 3% of the time comma 3 will stop at a red light and mysteriously try to sneak past it or not see a stop sign partly obscured by a tree (though I can recognize it). If image recognition can improve, experimental mode can become standard mode.

If you mean beep at you while OP is disengaged: it’s right there in the toggles “Enable Lane Departure Warnings”

I agree with you, but what if there is no way to change people’s opinions? I’ve seen the parodies of vertical video syndrome. I think people just tend to do whatever they want/can anyway though. 😕
The format to reach Gen Z is a video that’s 10 seconds long and vertical video.

Sunnypilot and dragonpilot both have optional nudgeless lane change.

i hate all those perfect conditions tests.
what if there is no marking left on the road after heavy winter, what if some of the users on the road is drunk, what if you see more signs “in the frame” than you should [cause there is on-going work], what if a robot DOES NOT SEE someone or thinks he sees that THERE IS NO ONE
unfortunately, everything i wrote was drawn from real lfie
too many ifs and too many failures
    alas

when you will demonstrate to me that your product is able to survive 7 days in Cairo, Egypt, i’ll believe you, but right now — y’all full of shit
