Take a bucket. Fill with hot water. Put a laptop in it. Leave for 3-5 hours. Buy a new laptop. Easy. Done.

Do not use a can of air duster or blower on the keyboard, port or especially the vent fans, because it will force particles deeper in to the laptop/computer. Older or dirtier models will collect some larger clumps of dust around the vent ports and pushing them further inside will affect the fans, prevent airflow or cover components that need airflow for cooling. Vacuum the offending crud, otherwise a good tutorial.

Matthew Hang if your laptop is that dirty compressed air is not something I would worry about, you’d need to disassemble the laptop and clean it properly.

The alcohol on the keys can erase the labels over time. Speaking from experience. Also be careful when using hand sanitizer for the same reason. Wait until it evaporates from your hands.

  25. Johnny Darko

Vacuum the vents and ports. Never blow. You send particles deeper in.
