If you dont use it as a weapon, and use it as a tool, then its not a weapon. Its a tool.

      Weapons are also tools.

@HarrMick right, but they can use this exclusively as a tool. Like disposing of hazardous materials, opening doors, scouting.

Forfeiture money is not ok either, most of the times cops steal that money and use that as a loophole.

Boston dynamic knows their tech will be weaponized when they sold it to the police. They didn’t opposed the money the police paid for the tech.

Was this story before or after Mayor Adams cut the NYPDs budget by $132M?

THIS IS TOTAL BS!!! The government should not be allowed to weaponize robots OR Ai against its citizens. I have zero sympathy for the idiots living in that city. Move away from the liberal authoritarianism or don’t come crying to the rest of us when you get the boot on your neck

So NY used the money they stole with no proof it was from crime, love how Americans let that law stand.

I’m gonna start calling it “forfeiture money” and “my corporate subsidy” whenever I walk out of the grocery store without paying for half my food

What do you hear when you sit in silence? For artist Rose B. Simpson, that question is the beginning of all art. She comes from a line of ceramic artists stretching back generations and, as part of her multidisciplinary work, she also builds custom lowrider cars. (If that sounds like a contradiction, that’s kind of the point.) In conversation with “Design Matters” podcast host Debbie Millman, Simpson invites you to find your own aesthetic — not by searching, but by listening. (Recorded at TEDNext 2025 on November 10, 2025)
