I’ve been android for 10 years but made the switch to iOS. I’m sorry but android os is potato even with that hardware that is needed to run it it still always lacking. I do miss the open source but all the adware bugs and apps just irritating

Hopefully they don’t actually sell the phone here in the U.S. for that much, the most premium model can cost up to $1,540 and the camera is not that great

Not a gamer, but I got the Razer Phone 2 because of its high refresh rate screen and dual front facing speakers. I’m debating between upgrading to this or the unannounced Xperia 1 III. Now I’m torn!

@Raiver Esterok It’s not, but the Xperia 1 III is likely to keep wireless charging, but that being said, I’m not sure how important that is to me anymore? I mean, I have a wireless car stand mount on my air vent that I haven’t been able to use because the RP2’s wireless charging has a different wireless charging point than most smartphones 🙁 Also the other main issue is the 1080p display. My RP2 has a 1440p display so that would be a downgrade in resolution. It may come down to cost though. ROG Phone seems like it’s going to be cheaper.

And i thought the difference between rog 2 and rog 3 was minimal… not impressed. I know it will be better than the 3, but i have the 3 and will not get the 5… Dont care about the 65w charging as i use a 5w charger with all bettery settings on and use it for 2 days, and that is with a charge only to 80%… Thought they might increase the refresh rate, but no… Like the extra buttons yhe fan gives, but the 3 has more than enough, and i use it for gaming. They could have waited for a plus variant, even tho the 888 is more than enough, but that is one thing that made gaming phone more niche by having an overclocked chip… What is ASUS doing? Even the cameras are exactly the same as the 3…?!?

I don’t see the weight of ROG as a drawback when gaming. Nintendo Switch, PSP, Nintendo DS, and even the Gameboy classic (battery incl) are heavier. Mid 200-ish grams is a very acceptable and comfortable weight for handheld gaming.
