i honestly like the idea, but as a first gen device, it really feels like a prototype. give it two to three iterations then let’s see. oh and the price is ridiculous.

I think Dell’s Duet concept with 2 screens was the best idea would love to have that

Comes off as a gimmick. I’d rather have a streaming device (iPad) separate from my work station.

In ten years if the price goes down a 10th of it. And durability goes up 10times or something. That’ll be awesome. ♥

And the sound quality for those movies? Cool device with a descent display.

Wooow. Apple better step it up. But I can see that screen wearing out pretty quick.

When they can solve the bumpy look in the part that curves, then it’ll be good.

There are laptops with far better specs at lower prices with 17” touch screens. This is just an Ad disguised as a review

  22. Joao Roman

The price is not ridiculous. Wanting cutting edge technology with regular tech prices is ridiculous.

  23. Evan Yoohoo

    August 31, 2022 at 11:28 pm

What we really need is a 24″ *curved* screen that rolls up into a robust tube, and has 3 telescopic needle-legs to lift it high above the table.
Then I’d bring my own, actually nice, keyboard.
That’s what a portable computer with today’s technology should look like, not this silliness.
    (1) No crease (2) Crazy ergonomic (3) Big enough that 16:9 is fine for work and web, while still fully utilized by video.

A good idea would be if the entire keyboard’s backside could also be used as both a drawing surface or a massive track pad with haptic feedback. Even better if it had a small slotted stylus

  41. Biodelic

I find these creases just absolutely annoying. No doubt, the technology is impressive and has come a long way, but the creases just keep me away from all things foldable.

It might be a nice trend, but practicality wise, 2 screens with very thin bezel in between them would be much more durable and doesn’t break much continuity. It can also be much thinner/lighter to carry. I remember MS was going to make one, but got delayed, not sure if it’s cancelled. I really hoped that one to become a thing.
