Welcome Back Vanessa. Glad someone is talking about Training Load. I wish I had this watchOS 11 feature 20 years ago. It’s profoundly easy to AutoGaslight how you got to where you are currently and just how much you have regressed and progressed. Recovery Hygiene [like Sleep hygiene or Sleep Performance in Dr Galpin terms] requires buy in on signals that can be gleamed.

which model of Apple watch does she have? is it the latest? I have the Watch series 5…will all these features be available on the SE series??

    • @vanessahandorellana

      November 21, 2024 at 3:58 pm

Up until a month ago I had the Series 5 too. Lexi’s video on the Series 10 plus the fact that it wouldn’t upgrade to watchos11 made me upgrade ???? all of the features minus the Training Load can be found on the Series 5. The new SE will have Training Load as it will receive the upgrade to watchOS 11.

The gamification of your workouts with the rings and the reminders triggers my authority defiance and make me want to rebel against it ???? the handwashing timer, though? It’s the most satisfying thing for my brain to hear that “ding” at the end ????

My series 10 watch is blank under cardio fitness is it because I don’t have the o2 sensor?

    • @dhauxx

      November 21, 2024 at 11:59 am

Apple Watch records cardio fitness when doing an Outdoor Walk, Outdoor Run or Hiking workout in the Workout app.

    • @vanessahandorellana

      November 21, 2024 at 3:54 pm

@@dhauxxyes exactly! ???? Up until a month ago I was still wearing a series 5 (no SPO2) and was still able to see cardio fitness with walking and running workouts.

From the first gen Apple Watch to the Series 10, gamification of daily fitness is still my favorite feature. I’m still trying to figure out if sleep tracking is even useful for me. I wish Apple would make sleep an optional ring.

    • @vanessahandorellana

      November 21, 2024 at 3:53 pm

I have a whole rant/article I can share with you where I basically voice the same grievance about it. Still can get used to wearing it at night and charging through the day.

    • @libartstech

      November 21, 2024 at 8:38 pm

@@vanessahandorellana I’ve found the charging to not be too big of a deal since it’s so fast on the Series 10 now. I mainly just charge it when I shower and maybe in the morning when I first sit down to work. I’ll have to look up your article about sleep tracking. It’s nice to know how much sleep time I get, and that might be a nice metric to gamify, but I really don’t know if all the other data about sleep stages is even worthwhile.

Sorry but carbs are the primary energy source, as glucose is water soluble. If these energy resources are exhausted, fats are converted into water soluble ketones, replacing our lovely friend glucose. So in high intensity workouts, so in the higher zones not lower zones, fats are burned.

Down rounds carry a stigma, but they’re not always the end of a startup’s story.

Charles Hudson of Precursor Ventures shares an example of a company that survived a difficult fundraising process involving a down round and investor-friendly terms. It wasn’t easy, but making the hard financing decision ultimately gave the company a chance to keep building.

For founders, the lesson is simple: The best fundraising outcome isn’t always the highest valuation — it’s the one that keeps your business alive.
