ordered 1 for 1 of my 2 old 4ks because closer in functionality to my 2 chromecast 4k remotes. Depending on my experience, I will get a second new 4k remote or ditch 1 of my apple 4ks for 3 rd chromecast. watch out apple!

Honestly the old remote I’ve gotten so use to, and the one I lose all the time is the bedroom one. But I bought up 3 of these to replace all of the Apple TV remotes in the house. Didn’t even hesitate.

Tbh the Apple TV just isn’t it cutting it anymore. Why buy an Apple TV when the majority of the TVs are now smart and come pre-installed with the apps you need. I would of thought apple would of at least released their own television by now…

They didn’t let me know that I needed to update the Apple TV software, and after that I was finally able to pair the new remote. But before that I was pulling out my hair.

Apple, here is a better idea: since we can control the Apple TV with our phones… can you just sell the box and change the storage? Sell it for $99 (64 Gb) and $120 (128 Gb).

I actually prefer a dedicated remote over using my phone, except in the case of putting in passwords from iCloud key chain.

Apple: Built in U1? Nah…..here’s a new remote holder with a pocket for the airtag. Just buy these 2 additional items and you are able to locate your remote anywhere in the world.

If you bought an Apple TV you should’ve spent that money on a better TV. If you say you already have a brand new TV then you wasted your money cause if you bought a new smart tv it already has all the video apps that an apple TV would have.

I use the remote that came with the Apple 4K and for me it works just fine. Plus I have my Logitech wireless keyboard paired with the TV if I need more refined moments.
I really do not see anything on the new remote that would make me want to upgrade.

I know I’m in the minority, but I actually don’t mind and kinda like the touchpad on the last Apple TV remote. Maybe because I’m use to it or maybe I like the sleekness of the remote design, I’m not sure. (I also have a case on it too which helps for ergonomics.) As much as I like the new remote, I probably won’t get one unless I buy a new Apple TV 🤷🏻♂️
