So they hiked the price of the MacBook Neo, even though it’s made with leftover binned chips from last year’s iPhone. Greedy, price-gouging behaviour.

With regard to the price increases, Apple would do well to remember that loyalty is a two-way street. They might make up for “lost revenue” in the short term, but could certainly lose out on long-term profit.
@bsd107
June 26, 2026 at 4:09 pm
Apple has been looking for ways to increase revenue for a while. Not a bad time to do it, regardless of whether it is truly “justified” (e.g. refurbs)

This is why I use Google assistant and Nest mini speakers. Then there is also the fact that i got two minis for free. One came free with my Nest Thermostat E (which was then paid for by rebates from the Gas and Electric company). The second was sent to me as a gift for using Google Fi.

For the love of all things! Please Apple, PLEASE! Give us the ability to have more than ONE Apple Remote on an Apple TV. Both my wife and I like to have our own remotes. I’m willing to buy another Apple Remote, but my Apple TV 4K will not let me! So, I have to use a cheap RF remote that my Apple TV will allow. 🤦🏻♂️ But, of course I lose Siri! Very stupid a should be a no brainer fix for Apple! Ironically I hated Fire TV and replaced all 7 of them with Apple TV’s … and they let me use multiple Fire TV remotes on each Fire TV. I have no idea expectations because Apple takes years to catch up with everyone else. The main thing that drove me to Apple TV was NO ADS, and the What’s Next Dock. Love that and will stay albeit using my cheap remote. 😡

You can use your iPhone as a remote.

Siri has been a continual embarrassment going all the way back to when Apple purchased the app and integrated it into iPhoneOS. Has always lagged the equivalents on other platforms, and only fell further and further behind.

Apple has started turning me off. Forced obsolescence for many devices for iOS 27, price hikes across the board, new AirPods every year, ok it’s run by billionaires. We get it
@lorenipsum93
June 26, 2026 at 5:05 pm
I only use my HomePod mini as a hub for Apple home and to have it read the date, weather & calendar events to me when I turn my wake up alarm off through a personal automation on my phone. Don’t really use Siri on it so if that’s the only upgrade then I”m good.
@Shailo510

See this just shows how important Apple is to the community when everybody else price hike goes up nobody talks about it. But now that apples involved in the price hike y’all all over Samsung went up. Lenova went up. Everything went up, but now that Apple is doing it y’all really talking about stuff happens. Gas goes up. Rent goes up so it is what it is.

I was Apple everything. Then the HomePods were switched to Google Home devices. Then the Apple Watch was switched to a Garmin. The thing keeping me on the iPhone is the AirPods. It’s sad. I hope they turn this around but Siri is soooo bad!

This was a Google problem with Gemini for over a year. Why couldn’t the Siri Ai requests go from the speaker to the Apple TV to process?
@Ou8y2k2
June 26, 2026 at 9:17 pm
Apple, instead of evolving their chatbot, just borrowed Google’s Gemini and called it Siri beta. Why spend billions on EV research, the Vision Pro, or Maps when you can actually be useful to a speaking customer?
@GregStew
June 26, 2026 at 9:30 pm
Thanks for the perspective Bridgette. I imagine that Apple will need to go super ballistic with their Trade-In Program. Huge opportunity, big challenge. The vast majority of devices out in the world won’t be able to run the new Siri AI. It’ll be interesting to see know the new leadership handles this challenge of getting millions onto the newer hardware 🤔.

The “privacy” angle feels like a way to upsell new HomePods when the old ones are still perfectly fine. Sure, they couldn’t handle on-device Siri, but they could rely on a secure cloud-based version instead. Apple could easily update them that way, but I doubt they will. If revenue is the concern, just make the extra cloud compute a subscription. That way older devices don’t end up in landfills, we keep using perfectly good speakers, and still get a smarter Siri.
@t-90atank35

They think they fix siri that theyre sure people will love apple again so they raised the price to keep up with their failed AI promise to their investors and customers lol

@muralibalaraman
June 26, 2026 at 11:46 pm
I think, the guidance is wrong. You actually may not need Siri for Apple TV, maybe for the HomePod category yes, so Apple trying to put everything everywhere won’t help. Second price increases on old devices that anyway are not supporting Siri sounds a little off to me. They should look at getting rid of the old devices that did not have the price increase for manufacturing. So there is a mismatch somewhere.
@devConstructor

I hope Apple gets the integration right. What you have on the phone is most likely the main model in control of your entire apple account. The ones in your home pods, speakers, watch will be mini agent Siri. So you know, each time you make a request or a prompt you burn “tokens” or credits Apple owes to its AI provider most likely Google.
It’s gonna cost at the beginning but eventually the cost will lower as people adopt the technology.
It’s basically AI acting on your behalf through the entire system Apple allows the model to access. The problem is “privacy” . Will Apple or will the Apple user accept the Siri agents to access his / her data on their behalf? Yes AI integration is like allowing a third party entity to act on your behalf inside your phone or mac.
They are still debating that today in the AI world.
