Yes. I am no privacy fanatic, but I don’t consider the advantage of not having to google something by hand worth being listened to by strangers in my home.

Smartphones spy on everything nowadays. Smart speakers help us doing a lot more tasks. Why bother with something we already lost

This was my analysis as well. The 3rd gen dot is an extremely good value if you aren’t looking for good sound quality. For me I’d step up to the full sized Echo for the better sound and the Zigbee hub.

This host is seriously mistaken! The third generation with clock is $60 or $12 a month for 5 months. The fourth generation with clock is also $60 or $12 a month for 5 months. You can look at both of the prices of these items right now on Amazon. The only way you’ll get the $19 third generation device is the one that does not have a clock. This host needs to research his information better, and not be so quick to criticize.

Amazon missed a big opportunity. they should have made all the Echos and Dots with the clock in every color by default. then just give people the option to turn on the clock or not. It’s an awesome feature, but it suck that you are limited to only the pale grey Dot if you want it.

“can’t play rap or trap music well” I had to snort laugh at that, to me, that “music” is going to sound crap to me no matter the quality of the system playing it.

      October 29, 2020 at 9:49 pm

My fav one is actually the, I think its called Echo Spot, the round one with the small screen on it, far more interesting than the others and as far as the new model, even though I am an adult, I find the kids version far more interesting, its good to have both options.

a suggestion notice how the 4th generation echo dot being stylish say a built in light built into the design of that echo dot could act as a bedside lamp a table lamp with voice control over the lamp

I’m getting Echo Dot 3rd Gen for $19 and Google Nest Mini for $18 in India. Which one should I choose? I already have a Firestick 3rd Gen.

If anything it’s just a design swap so buying it while having an echo is just a waste of money as if your gonna put on music why not put it on actual speakers instead of the echo device
