Idk why all these recent reviews still quote the pros at 250$ they haven’t been that all year , they sit around 199 at every major retailer been that way since late last year

      June 15, 2021 at 12:23 pm

      They’re still £249 at apple that’s why

True but the AirPod pro at $200 and echo buds had an early price of $100 so double the price. I have both and they match up fairly equal. Although I like AirPods Pro more it’s not double price better. Also Amazon let’s you get them in 5 payments of $20 so it feels like a smaller hit.

@Meno Bueno never used echo buds 2 so idk how they stack in usage. I was just saying all these reviews I see or comparison to airpord pros are quoting the price when they were new . They’re basically 200$ now and it’s plenty of ways you can pay in installment as well . Far as them being worth double the echo buds …I can’t speak on that both are probably good buds though

@Cristi Raca True wireless earbuds have a short lifespan compared to wired counterparts. Small batteries, the charging case, and the difficulty of replacing batteries means that most people will throw them out once they can’t hold a charge. Apple has sold well over 100 million AirPods. So there will be millions of pounds of e-waste from new wireless earbuds as their small batteries slowly die. A problem that wired earbuds and headphones don’t have because they get power from the source.

I love my wireless earbuds, but it’s hard to deny the environmental impact that the new product category will have. Hope this helps

@_RL _ are you new to this planet? Have you even heard of recycling??? I am pretty sure all these earbuds are made with materials that can be recycled

    • Cristi Raca

      June 15, 2021 at 8:00 pm

@_RL _ and wired headphones once the cable breaks people throw them away also, so your point is not valid

I regularly compare products to cheaper alternatives and this was a good fit because they’re both so similar with ANC! Just that one is half the price 🙂

Obviously, we may know that JVC is the best wireless earphones among them ever since as neither AirPods Pro nor Echo Buds 2 is not able to overcome multiple obstacles from my experience as magazine publisher.

This is one of the worst comparisions done by cnet. Amazon targeting Google company, here the comparison have to be done between Amazon Echo buds and google pixel buds or google galaxy buds.
However cnet is a private ajency, they won’t do comparison in justice. Which ever company pays money to them they would do comparison of those products.
At the most they would tell apple airpods and airpods pro are the best compared to all other earbuds.

Face it, Apple just went Gangsta on everyone with the new Beats Studio Buds by Dre for just $149 that’s about to be sold out. 💰😁

  25. Lamont Underwood

I was able to purchase both of them and for the value the echo buds are better if price isn’t a thing AirPod pro is the way to go

  26. Brian Hartman

    June 16, 2021 at 3:27 am

    Good overview of both. 🙂

I do agree with others who’ve said that the comparison is a bit strange, though. If the Echo Buds 2 either cost more or did more, it might be a better comparison, but it seems like you spent a lot of time saying that you could forgive the Echo Buds 2 for their not matching up to the AirPod Pros because of the price.
