“Human migration is both inevitable and growing. What are we as a global community doing to address it?” asks human rights lawyer Becca Heller, who believes that every refugee and migrant deserves a safe pathway to resettlement. Through her work with the International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP), Heller is showing how the power of the law can help displaced people find homes. By providing access to legal information and services, IRAP champions a functional, rights-based legal system that empowers resettlers to find long-lasting safety.

id rather take care of our existing homeless then to invite more first. America needs to prioritize citizens first then we can help immigrants once we are better. anything outside this logic is self sabotage. how can we effectively help others if we cannot help ourselves. we would rather give billions to overseas profit interests then to address our housing crisis. sick.

Human migration is on the rise but what this really means is not helping people who need a new home but it will cause instability to those who already have one. When your neighbours are constantly changing or they are people you have nothing in common with nobody ends up with a home. Demographics that change too quickly means everyone ends up homeless

I know you think the laws mean something but they don’t. When the mass comes off, you understand why they never respected any treaties…
Have you not seen the blatant disregard for the laws especially by those who would wheel that power?
    ..
If it was not alarming to you, you might not be paying attention or you might not be awake..
I am not woke but I am awake…
If you rise from your gentle slumber and notice something unsettling, I will have answers for you but only to those who ask.
Anyone will be accepted. Regardless of past transgressions on either side of the fence.
If we all unionize we can get get the infection out and we can go back to the way things were before all of the conveniences.
But we can keep those conveniences as long as they are being run by the right people.
Namely the ones that don’t want the job.
Or at least of one that doesn’t.

Refugees do have the right to asylum regardless if they are refugees from Ukraine or Africa but to be resettled and be given help, they need to follow procedures of the asylum policy of any country and respect it, these policies are there to ensure the safety and ease of integration of the refugees. If anyone is allowed to come to a country and claim asylum without proof of why they flee in the first place, you would have an uncontrollable influx of people coming in who do not qualify to be in the country as refugees and can cause problems like the riots happening in some parts of France by middle eastern and Aftican migrants who are clearly not willing to integrate. Fleeing war and seeking protection is a right but being allowed to stay in a country until the war back home is over is a matter of meritocracy, you have to prove that you are worthy of your asylum by contributing to the society. Look at Australis operation sovereign borders and how it stops drowning at sea from illegal crossings.

All of this about the west taking refugees begs the question, what if we were refugees in their lands?
What rights would we have? Would they tolerate our beliefs? Would they tolerate our religions? If someone burned a bible there would Christians turn on their benefactors? Very unlikely.
The more diverse a population the more gangs and gang violence become apparent, then the government takes more control.
In Canada 🇨🇦Trudeau banned firearms from legal firearms owners, unless you are indigenous. These are firearms never used by any legal owner to commit a crime.
Days after banning these firearms, he lowered penalties for gun crime.
More gun crime, more government control, and more inexcusable excuses to harass legal firearms owners. Those in control and government officials are the real criminals.

People wouldn’t be so anti illegal immigration if as much help was given to their own citizens first, in the UK we have ex service people living on the streets dealing with drug and MH issues, no one bothered to put them up in hotels, no one bothered to ensure that they were ‘resettled’ many get left to fend for themselves

    • Matt

      May 4, 2022 at 6:20 pm

That shouldn’t be used as an excuse not to help other people. You say that people wouldn’t be so against it but I struggle to believe it would be any different even if they did vote in a government that wasn’t indifferent to homeless ex service people. What you could say is that as little as the people of this country care about homeless ex service people, they care about people with brown skin even less.
