      February 26, 2026 at 4:49 pm

Genuinely curious about your comment. Are you suggesting Temu business model is proof that socialism is good or that capitalism is bad? Because it’s evidence of neither imo. It’s not evidence for the inverse of either economic system either. The one thing it proves to me is that if a manufacturer is desperate enough, and has low enough labor costs, they’ll sell their products below even COGS just to minimize losses. It also shows that buyers will purchase said products even if the ads are deceptive or outright false, they may never get their purchase, and they’re buying something probably not worth the cost to ship it around the globe. It’s a case study in a race to the bottom imo.

As a socialist, yes, this is bad.

Temu and china’s econmy is based on capitalism. North korea is the pure socialist/communist economy .

      February 26, 2026 at 6:07 pm

Notice they don’t sell 100% cotton clothes, it’s all polyester; cheap fabric.

    • @AnonymousUser77254

      February 26, 2026 at 4:34 pm

They do sell 100% cotton clothes. You can filter by material. Most clothing on there is polyester though.

I’d use Temu constantly if it wasn’t for all the game sh!t.
I hate the spinning wheels, the envelopes and all the obvious pathetic attempts at manipulation.
If they were just straight down the line without confetti and comgratulations… my cart would always be paid for and at my door.
I just cbf’d with the slow down and drama.

    • @lauren_xo01

    Scams

  16. @Tieaga

    February 26, 2026 at 5:02 pm

So basically Temu operates like a collection agency

  17. @JayCGypsy

    February 26, 2026 at 5:39 pm

This is not really correct or the whole story. Most of the products are utter crap and only manufactured as the equivalent of cheap carnival prizes, just so you keep playing and handing them data.

  18. @silverwolf5643

    February 26, 2026 at 6:36 pm

Between Temu and Amazon, it’s still better than eBay.

But all online shopping platform like then have one thing in common, there’s always going to be a scam and people fall for it easily 😂

  19. @hrettbollis2464

    February 26, 2026 at 7:10 pm

What he’s alluding to when he says next to anything is that these Chinese companies pull off some of the wildest corporate sabotage and espionage you’ve ever seen. Stuff that people here would get locked up for

  20. @coleman5335

  22. @Je_QzcY3mN0

    Plus some slave labour

  23. @steeltimberwolf

    February 27, 2026 at 3:41 pm

The reason Temu is so cheap is they steel the intellectual property of other companies, their manufacturing process and r&d that they didn’t have to pay for and then make the same product for a 10th of the cost because they didn’t have to do anything but steal the fabs and research of companies. This is because China doesn’t give two shits about intellectual property rights of any non-Chinese companies.

    • @Slyj

      February 27, 2026 at 8:24 pm

You actually here pretending western companies are better. Lol keep dreaming your delusions kiddo

  29. @AbbreviatedReviews

    February 27, 2026 at 4:50 pm

Your data isn’t worth much. People can buy it for pennies. It’s worth way more for them to get their app on your phone and have it tell you every 45 minutes that you can buy more. It’s the same for virtually every app that promotes deals – like every fast food app. You save $2 on a meal, but McDonald’s convinced you to buy twice as many meals in a month than you would have otherwise.

  30. @anony1664

    February 27, 2026 at 5:11 pm

Amazon def has excellent working conditions for its workers and doesn’t sell our data

  31. @daswars3003

    February 27, 2026 at 5:16 pm

The Western countries use the same manufacturer. And dont expect them to have better laboir laws bc they manufacture for another country.
The products have the same quality, Temus margin just arent as high

  32. @rufusconnolly8489

    February 27, 2026 at 5:30 pm

Slave labor, you aren’t the customer you’re the product. Next question

  45. @huxechozzz999

    February 28, 2026 at 10:59 am

I hope he’s being paid well for this Temu PR 😂, Amazon and honestly a lot of it isn’t even the market place it’s if we keep accepting low quality goods and go as far as encouraging by buying through Temu and shein we’re literally just asking for our ocean and landfills to be full of crap and the genuine quality goods maker’s will either fade away, join the lowering of standards for cost cutting and being competitive or join high fashion and be over priced

  46. @RoboMuskVsLizardZuckerberg

    February 28, 2026 at 11:16 am

So basically they dump overproduction that not branded by European

  47. @thePontiacBandit

    February 28, 2026 at 11:17 am

People don’t want any more of this crap.

Solution: Make more of it, sell it cheaper.

  48. @RoboMuskVsLizardZuckerberg

    February 28, 2026 at 11:18 am

Remember that frozen goods that cheaper to deliver via vehicle with refrigerator than storing it in warehouse?

  49. @h00h15

    February 28, 2026 at 11:19 am

Fun fact China is more capitalist than the US…

  50. @ahmed51988

    February 28, 2026 at 11:47 am

I am so shocked, like did people in the west think their western baranded clothes were manifactured in France or some “special chinese factories” ? Temu manifacturers just accept lower margins than western brands to access western consumers. It’s the same factories with the same labour laws.

  51. @billygodd6703

    February 28, 2026 at 11:49 am

All these business models need to go away, Amazon included. It’s extreme excess. They are producing & selling actual garbage. It’s not sustainable in any way.

  52. @dustinmalpass

    February 28, 2026 at 11:53 am

I never cared about quality bro, I’m worried about employment standards and conditions

  53. @thetropics8238

    February 28, 2026 at 12:05 pm

Imagine producing garbage so factories could continually compete with price just to have transaction.

The world would be in decline – society prioritize volume than essential.

Obtaining unncessary items just cause it is cheap or that which cost almost nothing – what we are communicating to the manufacturers & brands that we are ok with craps. Im not ok with temu and shein. We’ll run out of good durable products 🫩

  54. @N3WH0R1Z0NS

    February 28, 2026 at 12:40 pm

Ah yes and that’s why in the fine print of their TOS it states: we are not liable if your credit/ debit card gets stolen or compromised while using our services…. 💀

  55. @babyhehzeus

    February 28, 2026 at 12:59 pm

    Slave labor

  57. @Mr64Rusty

Also slavery here and there helps keep prices down.

  63. @hedition9346

    February 28, 2026 at 4:32 pm

I don’t get it. What do these factories do? Just run on no margin all day every day? Or is it like a seasonal downtime thing? How does any factory run on no margin? And why is it better to spend so much effort to keep the lines running for no margin than just to close it for time being?

  64. @Everclearboy1

    February 28, 2026 at 4:38 pm

Stop supporting garbage brands like Temu.

People buy at Temu out of necessity. We simply cannot afford western brands any more. This is not a choice or brand success. We don’t have an option. Temu and Aliexpress are our only options. I am completely not considering western brands any more, because I can’t afford them.

  77. @NxtReaper

What about all the stuff with harmful chemicals that are banned in EU or that there allegedly have been cases of Uighurs being forced into labor camps where they might be making some of these products, or the workers themselves working 12-16 hour shifts to live a normal life.

  109. @Drizzle52693

Because American companies were very stupid and made deals with China that said they could use the factories to create products in their downtime. So they just flood the market with cheap knockoffs

  110. @CoffeePengu

    March 2, 2026 at 1:20 pm

How many companies can you pronounce in the funniest and most silly way? Yes!

  112. @alap1983

    March 2, 2026 at 2:06 pm

This is Consumerism at its peak. Just because it is available for cheap, Americans are buying insanely. China knows this well and keeps improving productivity and production facilities while completely ignoring labor laws, sustainability, and other parts that Americans are vocal about.

  115. @theovernight1915

The real answer is they’re doing the same thing other companies like Walmart and Amazon does. The only difference is they lack market share. So in order to gain market share, they trim their margins to compete.

And just like their top US competitors, as soon as they succeed in gaining sufficient market share, they will increase prices to juice profits.

Or have you noticed most people who have a prime membership almost never buy enough stuff to actually recoup what they would have spent by just paying for shipping?

  116. @tomross4599

    March 2, 2026 at 4:22 pm

Subsidized shipping and tax exemptions has been a core of their business as well. Though that is going away.

They unfairly produce way under production prices to destroy market in the countries they sell into, and by that be the only exporter.
That’s why many China items are very cheap

  119. @bryanergau6682

because cheap labor, it’s not complicated

  127. @tegathemenace

    March 3, 2026 at 2:06 am

That post is the most generic dull woke take ever. Amazon is literally just the same Chinese products with a bald man endorsing it.😂

This is how the west continues to outdo china. It’s historically accurate. They just view them as inferior no matter what they do.
Happened to Huawei. Now I see Xiaomi being next in line. It’s part of how the US keeps it’s position as world leader. Mindless drones reiterating their propaganda without thought.

If the US made the marketplace fair to those guys, they would lose. Even Apple eventually. 🙂

  128. @AutumnLeavey

    March 3, 2026 at 2:26 am

The big companies are taking advantage of bad labor laws just as much, they just lie about it. Cheap useless stuff is bad, but we’ve all seen shark tank, we should know how much middleman brands profit off of factories abroad. It’s not uncommon to have more than 100% profit margins on their cheap plastic stuff.

  129. @Yuuunoh

    March 3, 2026 at 4:16 am

So destructive for local economies and for our planet.
    And what a solid answer.

  130. @henriqueoliveira2840

the difference is that Amazon destroys products to keep the demand high and sell them next year.

  136. @chloeindigo

    March 3, 2026 at 3:00 pm

So rather than hiring factories to produce products they’re allowing factories to move excess stock?
I mean, that’s definitely not worse than a lot of ‘quality’ brands in turns of its contribution to ongoing human rights issues. Stock that would have gone in the bin is already one way consumers can reduce their impact. Am I hearing you right? I know you’re saying there aren’t the best conditions in the factories, but what’s important is how the consumer is influencing those conditions. Maybe you could clarify but it is sounding like using these platforms is likely to be more of secondary input than buying brand name items without human rights certifications on them

  137. @teologen

    March 3, 2026 at 3:19 pm

They wouldnt have a problem with capacity if they took time to produce something of decent quality.

  140. @MrKennyBones

    March 3, 2026 at 6:26 pm

But Temu has completely broken Google. You can’t find a single product now that hasn’t paid placement. And it’s all frickin Temu.

Wanna find a local product? No dice, it’s gonna show Temu.

  141. @bradfordjhart

    March 3, 2026 at 8:34 pm

I would never buy anything off teamu, eBay or anything that’s not Amazon’s own brand of Amazon basics. Everything else on those platforms is a cheap Chinese knockoff

  142. @snaiy1147

    March 3, 2026 at 10:25 pm

Also the Chinese government heavily subsides these businesses (also has to have a certain part ownership by law in Chinese businesses, at leqst that was the case some years ago, not sure now), so thats why the factories can sell this excessive capacity and actually tank massive losses, while it also looks good on paper (Chinese economy and GDP growing on paper), while actually being a real fragile and artificially inflated system

  143. @Cvlvc7

    March 4, 2026 at 4:03 am

    Stop consuming that much. Easy.

  144. @IconicPotionz

    March 4, 2026 at 4:47 am

How is temu cheap? Westerners make it so complicated. China is a rich country who sell their things at a very affordable price unlike most western countries where you buy something of $1200 that only cost $10 to put together 😂

  145. @TheTravisDrake

    March 4, 2026 at 4:49 am

Not nearly as cheap as corporate America

  146. @slimfinchy

    March 4, 2026 at 7:02 am

It’s also because they use legal tax evasion.

  147. @ramses-k7j

    March 4, 2026 at 7:12 am

also, if they undersell western companies and those go bankrupt, they get to control more of the market

  149. @carloscallejaalvarez3079

The guy stating that manufacturing sites for temu would probably not follow labor or environmental laws, while he mentioned at the beginning they already were the producers for big clothing brands. They were already not following strict regulations, it didn’t change but the labeling

I’m to a point in my life where I’m just not buying crap that I don’t absolutely need. Not because I can’t afford it, but because I’d rather afford quality items when I need them, than crap when I don’t.
