    Think it’s bad now , wait until there’s a real war .

    Sounds like a passive-aggressive pitch for a space-cleaning or space-tug service

I heard a lot about Musk, but China’s 200,000 satellites barely got a passing mention. 😮

200,000 planned satellites. Let’s see how many they actually put up there starting in 2027 or 2028. Lots on the table until then.

Why do we need to put and left junk on every spec we touch as humans 🙁

The solution is simple: ablative lasers to slow orbits and deorbit debris. It will be expensive and will spark an arms race, but we are already in an arms race, and space-based lasers will be developed, maybe after an event that induces the kesseler syndrome.

Earth becoming like Saturn 🪐 Lol

    • @averytucker790

      February 23, 2026 at 5:22 am

Which is scary. Because, for those who don’t know. Saturn’s rings cast a permanent shadow on the planet.
As in whoever is under it will experience a permanent winter where nothing grows.

      February 23, 2026 at 11:22 pm

@averytucker790 I believe that the shadow cast by Saturn’s rings would move just like the shadow of our moon onto the earth, but the rings would add to the complexity of the weather and seasons.

    • @jongrover8763

      February 24, 2026 at 5:31 pm

Worse because the rings are in a plane. Kessler effect would be more of a sphere

Srarlink as been used as a tool of war in recent years, and its changed everyones perspective on these.

CNET Team, I’ve noticed that event coverage is being uploaded on the main channel but not on the CNET Highlights channel. Could you please clarify the reason for this? Thank you.

We don’t have the personnel to continue servicing the Highlights channel. Thanks for being a subscriber!

Maybe it is not so bad if we are to become “grounded” for the rest of this century.

Great news for global communications. Way to go Elon.

  12. @NextNate03

    February 22, 2026 at 11:32 am

The other company or option is just as bad.
    Why?
We are in a global helium shortage.
    Its non-renewable.
Once we are out, we are out.

Howard was so upset when Elon took Burnadette to the island and trafficked her to Kimble via burning man

    • @typerightseesight

      February 22, 2026 at 10:40 pm

@TrunkyGurden was that in the epstein files?

  14. @e.v.k.3632

    This is a real problem

  15. @zeitgeist888

    February 22, 2026 at 7:05 pm

The danger is real but it can be mitigated. There does need to be some real effort on clearing space debris through capture and removal and possibly redirecting smaller debris into the atmosphere or somewhere out of normal orbit regions. Maybe space based lasers could help without being an obvious weapon.

    • @De.Silver215

      February 22, 2026 at 9:49 pm

I wonder how Saturn managed to organise/collect all its space rocks into rings.

  16. @De.Silver215

    February 22, 2026 at 9:46 pm

If only the space junk would eventually collect into an orbital ring. Then, at least we can claim we are becoming a mini Saturn.

With how well we clean up after ourselves, I expect space will be cut off from us in a decade or two. Won’t be able to go up when there’s only a slim chance you won’t have a catastrophic impact from a screw moving at more than 22k/mph. Like the opening credits in the anime Planetes

  18. @jamesgreen2495

    February 23, 2026 at 8:12 am

Is there no global agency to stop this. It’s the next plastic and we know about it. Musk should be stopped.

Moving the satellites down will also make them move visible but Musk doesn’t care for astronomy or anyone else apart from greed and money for themselves. Soon space will be unaccessible and we will loose all our modern technology and be put back 70 years for the next century. Say goodbye to GPS, weather reporting, TV or any modern technology when it all goes wrong.

I’m more worried about this thing crashing on planes

Time to create a drone fleet in space, collecting scrap for use on the moon?

  22. @rhobot75

    February 23, 2026 at 12:58 pm

WTFark! That guy’s vocal fry forced me to mute the piece and watch captions. Which WTFark showed every Uh and Um from VFG (Vocal Fry Guy) and WHUF (What’s His Ugly Face). And 3rd WTFark, Oh, Hey, HELIUM, the element we are running out of is The Answer! Next up, another WTFark, more pap about asteroid mining. I truly hope KSyndrome happens, like, TOMORROW. Maybe a Do Not Recommend Channel is an option to purge my annoyance. Hm.

  23. @jongrover8763

    February 24, 2026 at 5:30 pm

Why hasn’t Kessler syndrome happened already?
