If you ask me AI will 💀 the internet, specially social media. Whats the point of coming on the internet if you can trust something is real or not? Might as well just use an AI system or app to create what you want, whether thats videos, comments, articles or your own social media with AI bots, lol. I think legacy internet isnt gonna be as popular in 10 years

I don’t feel like AI will ever be a “terminator” like threat, but I do feel like it’ll ruin the internet in the form of malicious spam bots and trolls. Especially when all it does is consume data and spit out words at random that hopefully make sense, AI has a long way to go to reach any meaningful level of “intelligence.”

Have you seen the recent models? It’s getting out of hand faster than you think.

    • @stickman4087

      April 16, 2025 at 4:39 pm

Quantum computing will change the game VERY fast. This technology will enable computers to process data and make computations literally a million times faster than the most advanced computers in use today. The technology isn’t even fundamentally in the same league, they’re not talking about this because not even many experts in computer science understand how it works but it’s being developed and making huge strides every day

A friend said he likes the chatGPT because he no longer has to think, it will all be done for him, so it makes things easier in life. I like to think…

      April 16, 2025 at 2:40 pm

Don’t fret; now you have a conversation partner who is actually intelligent and worth talking to. Just make sure you double check to make sure the things you learn are accurate.

      April 16, 2025 at 3:56 pm

i know a guy who uses it to converse with instead of talking to people… he’s been to the mental ward a few times since he’s started and won’t listen to his friends when they tell him to stop.. please do not use AI if you let it do ALL the work for you. it is incredibly dangerous. and will never not be.

    • @PeaceJourney...

      April 16, 2025 at 4:08 pm

@@LupusMobile no, I do not consent. That is fake intelligence, and not worth any of my time. Life matters. Who you interact with matters.

    • @LupusMobile

      April 16, 2025 at 4:53 pm

@ Those who lack intelligence don’t have a say in what is fake. This conversation with you,—a real person supposedly—has been an incredible waste of time, yet I indulge you because as you say, who you interact with matters. What have you given me? Are you going to help me to continue learning everything I want to learn to be a productive member of society? All you have done is complain, rather than offer insight or solutions. You look for the negative and react, rather than think and act. Sheep enjoy the company of other sheep though.

Pre payed credit gift cards or any payment method that is not directly connected to an account are safer when using these agentic systems to pay for things through online apps🤑

It feels as if Altman’s response was that there will be slow adaptation (live testing), and from whatever happens to the user (tester) they will _respond_ to the outcome. So, it’s like he understands the danger and can repeat what the dangers are, but the question was, what are the guardrails? Another good question is, what do AI creators consider, “too far”. What are they (the creators of this software) consider “too far”?

    • @andria3a

      April 16, 2025 at 2:53 pm

Clearly no guardrails afa we know PLEASE let’s take suggestion from Carole Cadwalladahr, who says we don’t go down their road,, but rebuild our “TECH “from the grassroots up
We still can say, wtaf, for example!!!
