The text message AI suggestions are absolutely pointless

It’s not just Apple. This pretty much applies to all the other AI models as well… Google Gemini, Samsung AI, Microsoft CoPilot, Chat GPT, etc., etc. Not sure why she’s singling out Apple when the entire phone industry is going this direction.

AI can be useful at times, but yeah, it also serves as a crutch for stupid or lazy people. But at this point, you can’t put the geenie back in the bottle, you know?

Apple Intelligence really did make those people completely vulnerable when trying to do tasks

Any thoughts on a pixel vs an iPhone? Don’t even have AI yet in Canada but noticing major buggyness in iOS 18.

It honestly feels like regular Siri at times for me. I also regret somewhat upgrading from my 13 Pro Max to 16 Pro Max.

As she well, knows, Apple is rolling out, Apple Intelligence in pieces. Granted the pieces they have rolled out so far have been of no use to me, but I have confidence that in future updates it will become more useful for all of us. But Bridget Had to have a story so we can’t miss a half baked report from her. What she does not seem to understand is the remarkable machine learning (Apple Intelligence) used to make photographs that are often better than DSLR‘s.

Have to agree that it’s a really stupid marketing tactic.

I do think that summaries have their place, though, if the summaries are *good* (i.e., they reflect the actual article). Ideally, AI should write article abstracts, so that you can decide if you want to dig into the whole article.

You know the other place AI would be good? Book and story synopses. Summarizing a short story or book you’ve written for publication can be challenging. You’d think it would be the easy part, but nope. 🙂

I think this person needs to go into a little more detail with using Apple Intelligence. It doesn’t fix everything and believe me, it’s still in beta. I disagree with what is said here about the writing tools. I have found that part useful.

Steve was so critical, he would have never allowed a half-baked product to be launched like this. Knowing how he was, he would probably have hated it.

U guys made a vid for shorts (vertical vid with 1.5mins even though shorts should be less than 1m to be categorized as shorts) and uploaded as a regular youtube video even though you already have a full version uploaded days ago…

Guess you could argue this was made for TikTok but that still doesn’t resolve the reason to have this uploaded like this on YouTube as is.

Does Apple think who manages this channel is stupid? Yes.

  23. @briscott6632

    December 2, 2024 at 6:29 pm

Yes, if you think about it, communication is a “chore” because you have to use brainpower to accomplish your task and typing words and thinking if it’ll sound better from the reader’s side takes time as well. Apple eliminates the inefficiencies in our communication and although it’s flawed, all great things have humble beginnings

But that’s what people are using AI for to help with analyzing documents etc. The big out cry went chat gpt came out was that students are going to use it to cheat. The issues that she is referring to are AI issues not apple issues. I don’t get her point. The apple version of AI is terrible anyway and inconsistent
