Crazy adversarial interviewer, and Aravind frankly killed it with a calm and conscious answers through this new era of technology. Was in the room and you can tell the tech community’s energy is very behind him.

Agreed! Omg.. I like TechCrunch less now because of this. I mean what’s right or wrong is up to the judge, but if they don’t like them, don’t have them there, is that hard?!

@ they threw a great event this week and I think this was still very engaging conversation all withstanding. Seems like the interviewer may have had some personal grievance coming from a journalism background, but I think it brought about a very candid conversation which is welcomed.

@@mriz if you call this journalism that’s just laughable. Also audiences were in the room to get to know and learn from different founders from different backgrounds, whether right or wrong they could judge, not to be there watching you do “journalism”, thanks

the interviewer will never build anything of consequence. his opinions dont matter. i wish he is put in his place soon. he was not coming from a place of curiosity but a place of motivated vengence

They need to take monetization seriously, it’s okay if companies fail to build great UIs, as long as their content is useful for the LLMs

What a buzzkill interviewer asking a LLMs based company why they are raising money? For infra, compute, training and inference. Could not have gotten a more uneducated interviewer. Decades of journalism experience my foot.

  11. @ChrizzeeB

    November 1, 2024 at 10:07 am

My god, this interviewer is an a-hole..

the quickfire round on acquisition offers? Why do a few lame tech journalists treat those transactions like tabloid gossip – and expect that he would divulge non-public info, heavily tied up in paperwork with third-parties.. what’s even the point?

  12. @ChrizzeeB

    November 1, 2024 at 10:10 am

On my last search in Google (my search bar default is now GPT Search),
    there were:
    top-4 results – SPONSORED
4 YT videos (full of Google ads)
    next 3-results – SHITTY LISTICLES
    bottom-3 results – SPONSORED

Google USED to be about finding the most apt and useful info. I guess that was a long time ago. They can just generate $150BN/year with these shenanigans instead..

And this interviewer finds so many problems with someone who tries to offer something better????

It sounds pretty adversarial, but it’s kinda good for reporters to ask tough questions, and hopefully he keeps the same energy when talking to other leaders in the space. Also, wonderfully handled by Arvind tbh.

Mr Senior Editor – Easy to ask questions and also written down questions, blah blah blah, oops. Perplexity and AI is great. Lets have editor agent ask questions next time with clear system prompt, dont be rude 🙂 How the heck this guy has survived as senior editor for 15 years.? Hehe Will this editor have the same body language and questions to Elon M?

Iconic how tech bros defend mr. Srinivas because they invested in AI bubble, like blockchain folks did in previous craze.
Trying to “call out” mr. Coldewey for confronting thief in silk gloves.

That was one of the worst interviews I’ve ever seen. Seem like he just walked in with an agenda to discredit. I mean the question about why raise so much money is just ridiculous. The questions actually reveal more about the interviewer than Aravind. Admire the patience and well thought out answers from Aravind. Inspiring.
