But why do I need 120Hz when every app I use runs in 60Hz by default?

    • @tarunsharma5057

      September 13, 2024 at 6:02 pm

Apps don’t have a specific refresh rate unless it’s a game. Every app will refresh at 120hz if the screen is 120hz, only some gpu intensive games are not able to make it to 120fps

@@tarunsharma5057though for a regular phone user aka the one’s with life that don’t dwindle in ” Mobile gaming whatever that means., doesn’t care about Hz of the screen.

used an iPhone 11, up until Last year & owned a LG 240 hz monitor, i played in it., while the phone is just for social media & messaging.

If Samsung were to release an $800 phone ($830 for an unlocked iPhone), one would expect a lot of features in the phone, especially the one someone looks at the most, the screen. A 60hz screen is simply unacceptable nowadays.

    • @superiortoall22

      September 13, 2024 at 6:39 pm

I mean you got phones manufacturers like Sony and ROG releasing $1500+ phones with 2 years of OS support, they hardly get any flack. That too is simply unacceptable these days.

    • @izziereal2010

      September 13, 2024 at 6:49 pm

@@superiortoall22 Two wrongs don’t make a right. That is why Sony and ROG hardly have a share of the smartphone market. People are not buying their phones, because they charge too much and they under deliver. Apple is not punished for under delivering by charging a lot of money for their entry level phones.

    • @superiortoall22

      September 13, 2024 at 7:50 pm

@@izziereal2010 not the point of my comment, it’s pointing out how the same people who are so quick to call out Apple for 60hz stay silent for issues like raising phone prices or lack of support. I can with confidence that you’ve probably never mentioned anything about Sony and the lack of their OS support but you’ve probably had several comments about Apple and 60hz.

60hz doesn’t hinder the overall performance of the phone nor does it causes any circumstances where it forces users to have to purchase a new phone. It’s a “vanity feature”, a nicety to have but not necessary. Yeah shame on Apple for not including it but they aren’t going to be punished for something most people wouldn’t care about it if their phones continue to work for the next 5 years.

      September 13, 2024 at 8:13 pm

@@superiortoall22 You missed my point about Sony. The consumers tell Sony to shove it with their two years of OS updates at $1500+ by not buying their phones. We speak with our wallets. However, Apple cannot include a feature that an Android phone worth $200 can include on their low end phones like the 120hz feature and charge their customers over $800 while doing it? It doesn’t matter it’s not needed to run the phone, people want it and Apple doesn’t supply the demand. Why do you defend their marketing tactics against their customers and then point to other companies for their wrongdoings to justify Apple? How about this, Sony phones are garbage and no one should buy them due to their lack of OS updates. There, I called them out. Will you call out Apple for having their customers pay extra by getting their pro models in order to get their “pro-motion” feature that inexpensive android phones have?

    • @superiortoall22

      September 13, 2024 at 8:44 pm

@@izziereal2010 lol let’s not pretend that consumers are advocating against Sony and their OS support by not buying their phones, it’s due to the prices being high, if Sony were to lower the prices to iPhone prices and keep OS support, consumers would buy the phones in a heartbeat. 95% of the comments under reviews and reveals don’t even address the OS support, they just talk about headphone jacks and SD cards. Same for red magic and ROG.

And where am I defending Apple, just said technically they’re not doing anything wrong to where they have to be punished by law. Can they be thrashed by critics and consumers sure, but punished? Not really. That’s like saying phones need three different camera lenses because a phone at a certain price point has one, nice to have but not a necessity.

And oh yeah lol that really showed them, only reason you said something was because someone asked why lol. And I’ve been calling Apple out for ages, it’s low hanging fruit though, I’m a dual OS user so no bias like you, Android and Apple fans (both are the same to me) have because you stay in your bubbles.

Likely to stay the same for the iPhone 17 since it will be one of the distinguishing features for Apple to rationalize charging higher for Pro models.

Nah boys i love apple phones and would probably never get an android phone, but there is now way anyone thinks 60hz on a £800+ is acceptable, if anything they shouldve given the camera button to the pro max only and 120hz to standard 16.

  14. @user-wk6xt3wb8l

    September 14, 2024 at 6:35 pm

They need to keep the 120hz on the pro phones otherwise no one will have a reason to buy unless a 5x zoom is oh so important

I think after iphone 17 the older xdr displays may get an update which will let go up to 120hz paid or free….. As they have started using same displays of older pro phones which can do 120hz there are jail breaks which allows us to use 120hz
